Yakumo1975
I knew of it, because of the C64 conversion. As you say, it's not a terrific game, I think Zzap!64 gave it something like 48%. Even 48% is being kind. maybe that was just for the soundtrack? That's the best part of the game As the video showed, the scrolling looks completely broken on the C64 version. Such a shame. The sound ain't too bad though. Yeah, the scrolling is awful. Who on earth could have though that was acceptable? This week we take a trip to the Family Arcade on Life In Japan

Yakumo1975
Robot Women! Dreams really do come true. I wonder if they would complain all the time like my wife This week on Battle of the Ports I bring you a classic from Irem, Image Fight. BillyHW
That is some weird scrolling choice on the FM Towns version. It's so jarring.
Classic Pac
I you want one to do Centipede on the 7800 has all other ports beat. Not only does it play better than any other port that 2 player co op mode is pure fun
Yakumo1975
That is some weird scrolling choice on the FM Towns version. It's so jarring. It sure is. Many shooters on the Saturn have been ruined because of that effect too. I you want one to do Centipede on the 7800 has all other ports beat. Not only does it play better than any other port that 2 player co op mode is pure fun Centipede would be a great one to cover however I'd need an awful lot of time to make that show due to the amount of versions there are. One of the main reasons why I've not covered Donkey Kong or Pacman yet.
Yakumo1975
Data East wanted a Gauntlet clone and this is what they came up with. Shackled on Battle of the Ports.
BillyHW
Another game I've never heard of. It's pretty cool when you see something new to you. The levels and sound seem kind of uninspired compared to Gauntlet.
Yakumo1975
Finally after 193 shows I get around to covering the iconic Donkey Kong on this week's Battle of the Ports. Another game I've never heard of. It's pretty cool when you see something new to you. The levels and sound seem kind of uninspired compared to Gauntlet. Yeah, I agree, the levels are king of dull looking. Too much grey. Gauntlet looks much nicer.

Yakumo1975
Back in their day, Irem were the kings of rock solid shooters. Funny that Mr. Heli looks like an easy game but it sure is not.

Hey, I noticed you only started posting videos in this thread starting with #133. Maybe you should alternate new videos with old ones from before #133 so we eventually get to see all of them in here. BillyHW
C64 programmers were never satisfied with just porting the music and sound directly.
Eltigro
Mr. Heli always reminded me of Opa Opa with the feet walking along the ground...
+Black_Tiger
I wonder if they would complain all the time like my wife This week on Battle of the Ports I bring you a classic from Irem, Image Fight. The PC Engine version of Image Fight has a narrow display mode that you can activate by holding button "I" while the game starts. Several other PCE vertical shooters also contain a higher resolution mode.
Yakumo1975
A big one this week on Battle of the Ports as we take a look at 15 versions of Pac-Mania.
BillyHW
That Amstrad port is embarrassing. I don't understand why it's so much slower than the Spectrum version. The Spectrum version actually looks like a fun game and the music is good. Did the MSX 2 still not have smooth scrolling? Sad! Never heard of the Zeebo. Was it not incredibly expensive to download games over 3G?
Tempest
The MSX2 had better scrolling than the original, but I think you needed the 2+ to get the smooth scrolling.
Yakumo1975
After being asked by a few people to review the Tlex Ulike I finally got one. Is it really any good?
Yakumo1975
I've made an update to the original Tlex Ulike video showing more emulation and a little more info.
zetastrike
Hey Yakumo (what's your actual name, if you share it?) have you ever found a chinese knockoff console that was legitimately good and worth the money? I really have enjoyed watching your stuff lately. I've been subscribed for a while, but never checked out your backlog until recently. Yakumo1975
Hey Yakumo (what's your actual name, if you share it?) have you ever found a chinese knockoff console that was legitimately good and worth the money? I really have enjoyed watching your stuff lately. I've been subscribed for a while, but never checked out your backlog until recently. My real name is Mark You can see it sometimes on the Retro Core 5 videos. Thanks for subscribing. There's quite a lit to see on my channel but some of the earlier stuff is pretty awful. A really odd game this week as we take a look at Exterminator from Premier.

zetastrike
Can the ST and Amiga ports use the mouse? That looks like a game that would benefit from mouse control. You'd have two buttons at least.
