*update 11/1/2019!: atariage member mooshue has now started moving all this info to a more clean list at google docs. It can be viewed here:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1FHcg00OEAc5d5Esa3tuBO2_mzXKF0gAWtLRuXBIr6-4

I have been working the last couple weeks to get more of my collection into Box Protectors. As I find less games I still need I want to better protect and store what I do have :)

I have had long chats with Dan over at http://www.retroprotection.com/ trying to figure out what protectors might work for less common systems and odd ball sizes for more common systems.

As I would love to someday have nearly all my things in the nice clear box protectors.

Dan seems to have the best number of various sizes available and he has shown a willingness to create some new custom sizes based on interest shown here at atariage.

So my goal with this thread is to make a repository for listing the various game systems and the box protectors that they use (or the closest current fit available) and include links on where to get them.

I have found some great fits for some odd things and would love to find more or get people together to have special sizes custom made.

Please post any links you have found with great fits or any odd size items you would like special size protectors made for. (Or any other relevant info you can think of related to this.)

So I will get started now with a updatable list! This was the best section I could think of to start this in since it definitely has to do with showing off your collection!! ;)

ATARI 2600
The majority of games for the 2600 fit in a protector made for it, the 5200, the 7800, short intellivision and the standard Colecovision games.
These also fit a few other systems which I will mention under those systems heading.
I have some protectors from retroprotection.com and videogameboxprotectors.com and kollector_protector on ebay.
The ones from retroprotection.com fit nice and snug while the ones from videogameboxprotectors have a bit of extra space.
The ones from kollector_protector are also very snug and have a center tab on the top and bottom for added closure.....cant decide if I like that especially or not.

I believe I prefer the ones from retroprotection.com here:
http://www.retroprotection.com/Atari-Box-Protectors_c40.htm

There were 9 games made by sega in tall boxes. These fit great in the tall intellivision protectors here:

http://www.retroprotection.com/Intellivision-Tall-Box-Box-Protectors_c101.htm

These will not fit the epyx games which have an even taller box....currently looking for a solution for the 3 epyx titles.

Mythicon made 3 games for the 2600 in very small boxes. No box I know currently fits them perfect.
But the VHS Size fits them pretty good with some extra space:
http://www.retroprotection.com/VHS_c107.htm

The Track and Field box that was packed with a controller will fit nicely with just a very small amount of wiggle room in the Super Smash Bros WiiU protector here:

http://www.retroprotection.com/Super-Smash-Bros-Wii-U-Special-Edition-Box-Protector-280.htm

This will also fit the Keyboard controllers box and the driving controllers box. However it is about 1/2" thicker than these 2, but looks very good from the front view.

*EDIT: I just found out today these are also an excellent fit for the Star Raiders big box set! ;)

*EDIT: I also found that the standard 2600 protectors from retroprotection will not quite fit the 20th Century Fox 2600 games. But the ones from videogameboxprotectors which are slightly larger will.

Dan at retroprotection is currently making a small batch of custom sized protectors for the Atari 2600 adult games (Playaround/Mystique) which are an odd size (these should also fit the 5 Video Gems games pretty close) you can preorder those here:
http://atariage.com/forums/topic/271825-custom-box-protectors-for-the-atari-2600-adult-game-boxes/

*EDIT(2-28-18): These are completed and order info will be available soon!!

*EDIT(2-28-18): I have found a perfect fit for the Phaser Patrol game by starpath that includes the supercharger hardware! This is for the standard size 1, not the rare big box supercharger set.

It fits perfectly in a protector for Zelda Skyward Sword from retroprotection. Available here:

https://retroprotection.com/searchquick-submit.sc?keywords=skyward

*EDIT(2-28-18): I have found a pretty decent fit also for the big box Indy 500 set. Near perfect on height and thickness and about 1/2 wider than necessary. Which is of course not see if its on a bookshelf.

These fit in the windwaker protector from retroprotection.com. Available here:

https://retroprotection.com/searchquick-submit.sc?keywords=windwaker

*EDIT(2-28-18): This was a wonderful find! The fat box activision games like Ghostbusters for the 2600 fit exactly in the protectors for Super Mario all stars Wii. Note these fit the coleco and 5200 fat activision boxes too!

Available here: https://retroprotection.com/Super-Mario-All-Stars-Wii-Box-Protector-1-FITS-NTSC-VERSION-180.htm?categoryId=-1

*EDIT(8-28-18): The newer Atari 7800 big box absolute protectors will fit the 3 epyx titles. They are very good on the height and thickness but about 1 1/4" too wide. But as of now the only known thing they fit in.

Available here: https://www.mortoffgames.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=948&search=box+protector

(I will be adding other additional special sizes soon.)

Here are some 2600 games that are odd sized and I currenly don't know of a protector for:

Berenstain Bears, Boing!, Omega Race, Back to School box set, the 3 titles by Epyx, Indy 500 big box set, Atari Racing box set, Phaser Patrol.

*EDIT(2-28-18): Retroprotection also carries nice protectors for the loose 2600 carts too. This fits any of the standard size carts as well as colecovision carts:

https://retroprotection.com/Atari-2600-Cartridge-protectors_c261.htm

ATARI 5200
Most of the games for the 5200 use the standard Atari box protectors (CBS, Parker Bros, Meteorites, Quintana Roo and most Atari and some Activision titles) they are here:
http://www.retroprotection.com/Atari-Box-Protectors_c40.htm

*Note that these can be a bit tight on the parker bros 2 piece boxes and you may prefer the ones from videogameboxprotectors.com for those.

Then there are 4 tall box games that sega made for the 5200, they fit in the tall box intellivision protectors perfectly:
http://www.retroprotection.com/Intellivision-Tall-Box-Box-Protectors_c101.htm

Then Activision made games for the 5200 and some are the standard 5200 size but some are a thicker box with a tray inside, like hero, zone rangers, space shuttle, pitfall 2, and zenji came in.
These are a size I very much want to get somebody to make as Activision also used this size for some colecovision, Atari 8 bit and commodore games.
Currently I know of no protector that fits these well, at least not closely. The new 2600 Adult game box protectors will fit them but will be larger than needed in thickness and width.

*EDIT: these Jaguar CD protectors will fit the fat box activision games. They are about 1" to tall tought and 3/16" too wide. But the only option I know of currently:

https://www.mortoffgames.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=297&product_id=933
*EDIT(2-28-18): Update! The super Mario all stars wii protectors fit the 5 fat box activision games perfectly! From retroprotection.com here:

https://retroprotection.com/Super-Mario-All-Stars-Wii-Box-Protector-1-FITS-NTSC-VERSION-180.htm?categoryId=-1

Then there are the 2 big box 5200 games by Atari - robotron 2084 and space dungeon.
These will fit in a box protector made for super smash bros. They are just about 1/2" thicker than needed, but from the front view fit excellent:
http://www.retroprotection.com/Super-Smash-Bros-Wii-U-Special-Edition-Box-Protector-280.htm?categoryId=-1

Miner 2049er is wider than most titles and wont fit any box I know, but would fit the new 2600 adult boxes being made(they would just be about 1/2" thicker than needed:
http://atariage.com/forums/topic/271825-custom-box-protectors-for-the-atari-2600-adult-game-boxes/

I believe that leaves only the huge box for bounty bob. I don t have this sadly so I don't know the size or if there is a protector it fits in.
*Info and measurements would be great on this 1!

*EDIT(2-28-18): Retroprotection also now carries nice protectors for the loose 5200 carts too. This fits any of the standard size carts:

https://retroprotection.com/Atari-5200-Cartridge-Protectors_c262.htm

These should also prove to fit some oddball small box stuff.....for instance they are pretty good for mega duck boxes :D

ATARI 7800 (*Protectors now exist for all games!)
Again most of the games fit in the standard Atari protectors (Activision, Froggo, standard size Absolute and all Atari brand) they are here:
http://www.retroprotection.com/Atari-Box-Protectors_c40.htm

There are 5 big box games made by Absolute that currently nothing I know of fits.
A member here says he has them in production though and they will be available soon!:
https://www.mortoffgames.com/atari-7800

*EDIT(2-28-18): Update!! Much needed big box absolute protectors are now available here from mortoff games! Thanks William!!:

https://www.mortoffgames.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=948&search=box+protector

*I believe 7800 is covered by these 2 sizes above.

INTELLIVISION (*Protectors now exist for all games!)
I believe all the 125 titles will fit in 2 size protectors.
The shorter games like those from intv, imagic, parker bros, coleco, dextell, interphase and atarisoft all use the standard Atari protectors here:
http://www.retroprotection.com/Atari-Box-Protectors_c40.htm

Then the taller ones like the Mattel gatefold boxes, the Activision titles and Segas congo bongo all use the "tall intellivision" protector here:
http://www.retroprotection.com/Intellivision-Tall-Box-Box-Protectors_c101.htm

*I believe these 2 sizes cover all the intellivision games.

CHANNEL F (*Protectors now exist for all games!)
I was very happy to find that all the Channel F games (and probably all the clones, but this is not yet confirmed) fit near perfect in the Japanese Gamecube Double Disc protectors here:
http://www.retroprotection.com/Japanese-Gamecube-Double-Disc-Protectors_c213.htm

*I believe as Lazzeri recently noted that these will also probably fit all the clone games as well!

BALLY ASTROCADE
All the standard size games in the gold boxes as well as the 2 spectrecade titles fit very nice in the standard Atari protectors here:
http://www.retroprotection.com/Atari-Box-Protectors_c40.htm

*EDIT(2-28-18): The original bally releases that came on the black and white card will fit tightly in DVD protectors (Such as the demo cart) Available here:

https://retroprotection.com/DVD-Box-Protectors_c52.htm

*I will need to update with any other special sizes there might be for the astrocade. Offhand the only others I can think of are the 2 big box basic sets.

VECTREX
A special custom made size that fits these perfect is available here:
http://www.retroprotection.com/Vectrex_c71.htm

*EDIT(2-28-18): The light box set with the fold out side carded box (usa version only) will fit nicely in a neo geo aes protector if the card is folded over against the box. Available here:

https://retroprotection.com/Neo-Geo_c189.htm

*This leaves only a protector needed for the 3d imager box. Somebody make this please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

VIC 20
No protector I know of fits these perfect, but the standard commodore ones I have and spinnaker will fit in the Vectrex protector but they are just over 1/2" wider than needed:
http://www.retroprotection.com/Vectrex_c71.htm

*Probably more sizes for the Vic 20 but I don't have any others to check currently.

*EDIT: (8-30-19)

Buzz and Bingos Moon Circus now sells atari XEGS box protectors on ebay that vic 20 games will fit in good but very tightly.

Available here:

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F153240610668

TOMY PYUUTA (*Protectors now exist for all games!)
I was thrilled to find all these beautiful games fit exactly in the VHS box protectors here!:
http://www.retroprotection.com/VHS_c107.htm

ACTIONMAX (*Protectors now exist for all games!)
Since thes are vhs tape games they fit the vhs protectors here exactly:
http://www.retroprotection.com/VHS_c107.htm

ARCADIA 2001 (*Protectors now exist for all games!)

I mentioned that the standard Atari protectors are a bit loose on Atari games compared to the ones at retroprotection.com....but this does come in handy for the slightly fatter arcadia boxes!

The ones retroprotection.com has will NOT fit arcadia games. They fit all the other consoles games this size great but arcadia will not quite fit in them.

The slightly larger Atari style boxes that fit Arcadia can be purchased here:

http://www.videogameboxprotectors.com/store/4569532134

TOMY TUTOR (*Protectors now exist for all games!)

All the games for the Tomy Tutor fit well in the standard Atari protectors here:

http://www.retroprotection.com/Atari-Box-Protectors_c40.htm

ODYSSEY 2 & VIDEOPAC (*Protectors now exist for all games!)

A protector was just recently made as an exact fit for Odyssey 2. They should also fit Videopac but I need to verify this.

I currently have an order coming for these and I will report back with more info on them.

*EDIT: got these in the mail and they work great for the odyssey 2 and video pac games! They have an extra closure tab in the center of the top and bottom...I believe all his protectors do.

They are available here:

https://www.mortoffgames.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=299

*update 11/1/2019: buzz and bingo now sell these for much cheaper on ebay too:

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F153262769680

He also currently sells a protector that fits the Odyssey 2 console box at the link above. (*EDIT:I bought 1 of these too but he did not ship it with my order though...not sure why yet?)

And he is making custom protectors to fit the 3 Odyssey 2 big box board game titles. These are still in production. These will be wonderful to have!

*EDIT: I now got the new odyssey 2 console protector. It looks great and is a great fit. Sadly mine got some damage in shipping but he will now be sending them in stiff cardboard tubes to avoid damage.

*EDIT(2-28-18): The protectors from mortoff games for the 3 big box board game titles are done and ready to order here!!:

https://www.mortoffgames.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=949&search=box+protector

Also the 2 Imagic games will fit perfectly in the standard 2600 protectors here:

https://retroprotection.com/Atari-Box-Protectors_c40.htm

RCA STUDIO 2

Currently nothing fits these games that is not quite oversized.

Please post if you find a solution that works well...or fairly well :)

*EDIT: You can fit 2 rca studio 2 games in a standard Atari protector from videogame protectors. They fit perfect on height and thickness but are about 1/2" wider than needed.

The ones from retroprotection are too tight though.

These are probably the best solution currently (but its for 2 games in 1 protector!):

http://www.videogameboxprotectors.com/store/4569532134

*EDIT(2-28-18): Mortoff games made custom protectors for the RCA Studio 2 games!!!! I believe this is for the standard ones and not the big school house 1.

I will verify this when I receive mine shortly:

https://www.mortoffgames.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=946&search=box+protector

CREATIVISION (*Protectors now exist for all games!)

All the games for the Creativision fit well in the standard Atari protectors. Except for BASIC. This is another possible one that may fit the new 2600 adult protectors (this needs to still be verified).

The ones that fit all the games besides BASIC are available here:

http://www.retroprotection.com/Atari-Box-Protectors_c40.htm

EDIT: (8-28-18): I have verified that the fat box activision protectors are a perfect fit for the BASIC program for creativision. Available here:

https://retroprotection.com/Super-Mario-All-Stars-Wii-Box-Protector-1-FITS-NTSC-VERSION-180.htm?categoryId=-1

MPT-03 & ORMATU (*Protectors now exist for all games!)

These arcadia clones fit good in the standard Atari 2600 protectors. There is just about 3/16" extra width but they still work and look good:

http://www.retroprotection.com/Atari-Box-Protectors_c40.htm

SHEEN 2001 & M1800, INTERVISION 2001 & 3001, INNOHIT 2001 & Possibly others from this family. (*Protectors now exist for all games!)

These Arcadia clones fit nearly perfect in the Odyssey 2 protectors from Mortoff.

Available here: https://www.mortoffgames.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=299

MPT-05 (*Protectors now exist for all games!)

These are a clone version of the interton family of games. They fit excellent in the new odyssey 2 protectors here:

https://www.mortoffgames.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=299

COCO 3

These games that came in a blister packet will fit in the new odyssey 2 protectors from mortoff games.

They fit perfect on the thickness and the height works good but you do have to bend the hang tab over slightly.

On the width they are a bit over 1/2" wider than necessary.

These protectors will not fit the Coco 2 silver boxes though...still looking for an option for them.

The ones that fit coco 3 are here:

https://www.mortoffgames.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=299

COLECOVISION (This section under construction)

I have yet to finish documenting the coleco games. But I do want to mention that the 4 fat box activision games as well as the champ adapter fit perfectly in these protectors from retroprotection.com:

https://retroprotection.com/Super-Mario-All-Stars-Wii-Box-Protector-1-FITS-NTSC-VERSION-180.htm?categoryId=-1

And most of the colecovision games fit in the standard size 2600 protector here:

https://retroprotection.com/Atari-Box-Protectors_c40.htm

Hopefully some new fits for some of the big box games soon!

ODYSSEY (Original)

I have been in talks to get William from Mortoff games to make some custom boxes for the 10 original odyssey long box games!

Fingers crossed this will happen! Want these soooo bad!!

Will update as I know more!

*EDIT (8-28-18): For now these probably aren't happening anytime soon sadly.

SUPERVISION

The blister pack releases by goldnation that were how the games were released in the USA and other areas too fit perfectly in DVD case protectors.

Available here: https://retroprotection.com/DVD-Box-Protectors_c52.htm

*update 11/1/2019: These slipcover dvd covers are just slightly bigger than the regular dvd protectirs and are a much better fit than the above link:

https://retroprotection.com/DVD-Slipcover-Protectors_c199.htm

The cardboard style releases that were released outside the USA, like Europe and many out of Germany will fit in the same protectors as the channel f games.

However they fit VERY tight. You may want to just get a couple to try and see if you are satisfied with them.

Otherwise they fit exact on the width and thickness with about 1/4" extra space on the top. *Note these do not fit the larger carded hangtab type.

Available here: http://www.retroprotection.com/Japanese-Gamecube-Double-Disc-Protectors_c213.htm

*EDIT: (8-30-19)

Buzz and Bingos Moon Circus now sells atari lynx box protectors on ebay. The blue or grey box cardboard supervision boxes fit in them good. Just a slight bit tight on the height.

Available here:

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F153160250325

ATARI XEGS:

No perfect protector for these, but they are almost the same size as the Vic 20 cart boxes and they will fit in the Vectrex protectors. Good on height and thickness but about 1/2" too wide.

Available here: http://www.retroprotection.com/Vectrex_c71.htm

*EDIT: (8-30-19)

Buzz and Bingos Moon Circus now sells real XEGS box protectors on ebay.

Available here:

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F153240610668

They also will fit Vic 20 game boxes but are very tight on them.

ATARI LYNX

Buzz and Bingos Moon Circus now sells real atari lynx box protectors on ebay. Long ago Lynx box protectors were made but sold out years ago and now are finally available again!

Available here:

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F153160250325

thanks and hopefully lots more info to add soon!!! :)

Excellent thread- and I'm amazed that there wasn't already one like it. I had forgotten about those Channel F ones being available.

You can also add Arcadia 2001 grey boxes to the list, the following work well enough:

https://m.ebay.com/itm/5-Atari-Box-Protectors-Works-for-Intellivision-Bally-Astrocade-Arcadia-2001-/161093790361?nav=SEARCH

Thanks Jack, I was surprised there was nothing like it as well.

I am very happy to get any games in protectors that I can and I have lots of odd collections with weird sizes :)

Yes the channel f boxes are great! I had seen 1 game in a protector once so knew somebody made something at somepoint.

The ones I linked to fit excellent!

Yes Arcadia was the next I was going to get to.

The ones you linked to are from videogameboxprotectors.com....keep_em_minty is their ebay store.

I mentioned that the standard Atari protectors are a bit loose on Atari games compared to the ones at retroprotection.com....but this does come in handy for the slightly fatter arcadia boxes!

The ones retroprotection has will NOT fit arcadia games. They fit all the other consoles this size great but arcadia will not quite fit in them ;)

So the ones you linked to are the only ones I know of that arcadia will fit in.

Also parker bros games for Atari, coleco, intellivision will fit in the retroprotection protectors but they are a very tight fit....the videogameboxprotectors.com ones are better for parker bros games.

Hi Stupus,

Thank you for starting this thread. I am eventually in market for these box protectors for intellivision only & wanted to ask if link you provided are as good or better than ones from "keep em minty" on eBay? Anyone have opinions on which ones are best to get as I don't currently have sny but have been meaning to get for over a year.

Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Any idea what'll fit Telly Turtle on Colecovision? I don't own one yet, but it seems nonstandard.

I am currently working thru the Cole Co sizes.

Probably the only possibility for telly turtle is a vertex protector.

But I have not verified this yet.

It also came in a clam shell in the USA and cardboard box in canada. I believe the 2 are different sizes too.

I will report back when I check these ;)

Thanks!

Hi Joe!

Glad you like the thread!

It's definitely great to get your games into protectors, and they have become quite affordable now. Only about 70 cents each when bought in bulk.

So you have 2 sizes you need to fit all the intellivision games.

The standard atari 2600 ones and the tall intellivision ones.

The tall ones are needed for all gatefold boxes and the activision games and Congo bongo. The sears variants also need these. The rest fit the atari 2600 protectors.

For the tall ones the main difference is that the ones from keep me minty on ebay (videogameboxprotectors.com) is that they are slightly larger than the ones from retroprotection.com.

And the ones from keep me minty do not have a standard opening flap on the bottom side.

It is kind of a x shaped flap on the bottom that does not open...only the top.

The ones from retroprotection are the same on both ends. They have the open able flaps.

I also like that they fit tighter as they hold the box shape better and you get more to the shelf.

on Congo bongo they fit a bit tight but do go in.

For the atari 2600 ones both brands have open able flaps on both ends.

Again the retroprotection ones fit more snug and keep me minty are more loose.

However for the parker bros games the extra space is nice as the ones from retroprotection are a bit tight on the parker games but do go in.

So you may consider getting some from both places if you want the best possible fits for everything.

Hope that helps! :)

Edited by stupus

Hi Stupus,

Thanks for reply - I'm leaning towards the ones from your link I think since they are a little cheaper & I like them opening on both top & bottom. If I'm unhappy with some being to tight then I can pick up some from keep em minty. Anyone else have a strong preference either way?

Thanks again.

Joe

No problem ;)

Yes I like them opening at both ends and fitting snugger. For the tall ones they fit great from retroprotection. Just Congo bongo is a bit snug bit not too bad.

And the short ones aren't too bad for the parker titles either.

If I had to only order from 1 vendor it would be the ones fromretroprotection.com

;)

No problem ;)

I know 7 3/4" is a standard shelf depth....probably hard to find them less deep than that. But that size pretty much accommodates any size game.

IKEA should have something that will work good.

I am building some shelves myself from 3/4" birch plywood that comes prefinished. Then I am putting t-molding like they use on arcade games on all the edges :)

I am making 3 large units that should hold my near complete cib collection of every usa released pre-nes game system made. I will try and post some pics as I do it.

So I got a box protector order in today from mortoffgames.com

He has made custom size boxes for the odyssey 2 games and the Jaguar cd games.

I don't collect Jaguar but bought 1 in hopes they might fit other things.

The thick activision boxes that I mentioned before for the colecovision and 5200 do fit in these.

They are perfect for thickness, but 3/16" to wide and 1" to tall. But until someone makes the exact 1 for these this is the best current option.

I think they may also work for some other oversize coleco stuff and computer games.....I need to check these still.

Then his odyssey 2 protectors fit odyssey 2 games perfect!

The videopac cases also fit in them.

And MPT-05 games fit in them as well.....maybe I am the only collector of these though? lol

And the coco 3 games that came in the plastic blister shells fit in them.

You have to fold the hang tab a bit but then they fit good on the height. Thickness is perfect and you have about 1/2" extra space on the width.

Coco 2 game boxes wont fit them though...still looking for an option to fit these.

I also got a game boy protector from him...no matches on it for any other systems I have found.

I also found 2 rca studio 2 boxes will fit stacked in a standard 2600 protector by videogameboxprotectors.com. The ones from retroprotection.com are a bit to tight for 2 of them.

Not a great option but something for now. Height and thickness are perfect. and about 1/2" wider than needed.

Other than that game gear is the closest protector I found for 1 rca s2 box...thickness is right, but a good deal of extra room on the height and width.

And I found mpt-03 games (arcadia clone) will fit in the Atari 2600 protectors from retroprotection good.

Height and thickness are great, width is only about 3/16" wider than necessary....not very noticeable on these.

I will add some pics below of these new sizes.

post-26050-0-10955700-1511058926_thumb.jpg

Above is 2 rca studio 2 games in a 2600 standard protector, a5200 fat box Activision game in a jaguar cd protector and a Mpt03 game in a standard 2600 protector.

post-26050-0-99824900-1511058945_thumb.jpg

Wow very impressive collection stupus. Good luck on your project sure it's going to come out nice. I'll probably buy something with at least 12" depth so it could hold some hardware & misc. I'm hoping to find something with glass doors that hopefully lock as well.

Intellivision

I believe all the 125 titles will fit in 2 size protectors.

The shorter games like those from intv, imagic, parker bros, coleco, dextell, interphase and atarisoft all use the standard Atari protectors here:

http://www.retroprotection.com/Atari-Box-Protectors_c40.htm

Then the taller ones like the Mattel gatefold boxes, the Activision titles and Segas congo bongo all use the "tall intellivision" protector here:

http://www.retroprotection.com/Intellivision-Tall-Box-Box-Protectors_c101.htm

*I believe these 2 sizes cover all the intellivision games.

ditto :)

Wait, what about the Shock Vision CIB?

Ah, true, those must be stored in a safe

Haha, your right! I wasn't counting variants yet though....and I don't have the luck of owning any shock vision boxes....maybe you could measure 1 if you have 1? :)

Anything to fit a800 games. I assume some might work with a2600 box protectors but interested to see what about other sizes

Atari computer stuff is one of the few things I have not collected.

I was a commodore/amiga guy back in the day and just never started into the Atari computer stuff.

I would guess your best bet other than games that fit in the 2600 Atari protectors or tall intellivision protectors would be the vectrex protectors....that's one of the biggest game box protector sizes.

I think videogameboxprotectors.com also has 2 sizes for computer games but not sure what they might all fit.

If you want to post any sizes we can look into some possibilities. ;)

I also just found today that 20th century fox games for the 2600 will not fit in the protectors from retroprotection.com. But they will fit in the protectors from videogameprotectors.com

Like I mentioned before the ones they sell are slightly bigger which for most things I don't like the slightly larger size.

But they do work better for the Atari/intellivison/colecovision parker bros games and arcadia 2001 games and the 20th century fox 2600 games will only fit in them.

any good cases for loose games? I don't care much for the boxes and collect loose normally. (still get boxes when I can though)

Sorry for my delayed reply!

Yes, retro protection has very nice little protectors that are made for standard size 2600 and 7800 carts.

They fit quite a few of them. Some oversized ones like xonox or command etc won't fit them though.

They also fit standard colecovision carts perfectly.

Intellivision carts and vertex carts will also fit in them, but there is a bit of extra space....but not bad.

They are here:

http://retroprotection.com/Atari-2600-Cartridge-protectors_c261.htm

He also just got 5200 cart protectors in this weekend, they are here:

http://retroprotection.com/Atari-5200-Cartridge-Protectors_c262.htm

He also makes baggies for carts but the protectors are the way to go and priced nice.

Let me know if there were any other systems you were thinking of for cart protectors. If your after later stuff he also has protectors for nes, snes, n64 carts and some others I believe.

I never noticed your thread ;)

I have recently found those same protectors for those odd boxes, I have just not had time to update the thread yet.

My best find lately was that super Mario all Stars wii u protector is a perfect for for the fat box Activision games for atari 5200, colecovision, 2600 and any other systems that had the fat box Activision boxes. They were the same height and width as the standard atari size, but much thicker.

Still nothing great for the epyx titles. I happened to have 2 very old protectors that are an exact fit for the epyx games....I believe they were made for computer games but I have no idea yet on their origin. Wish I had 1 more :) haha

Ouch. :-(

Any suggestion for the Atari 2600 Ghostbusters?

That reminds me that I must contact Dan and try to find something suitable for Microvision games. Any ideas?
