But then again I have them all in Steam now... In the earliest times, that was the big means of distribution. People would offer the first level of a game for free, and if you liked it, you either called the phone number and ordered it over the phone, to which point they'd send it to you in the mail, or you could download it from their BBS. Id was big on this though, many of their games had the first level as available shareware. Doom was a great multiplayer game though... probably "the" one, I'd say, that made most people aware you could play against someone on your computer. From what i've seen of the saturn port it's not the fastest but it sure looks amazing. It has better light effects than both pc(dos) and n64 in my opinion. The Dynamic lights are rudimentary but it has a cool middle ground between the pc's gritty look and the colored lights in one package. The port uses a different engine too so it went through a lot of work. I think it's "They're Going To Get You".
