Then we must turn them into harmful objects ! fire hydrants are not lethal last time I check..  :)

 

by the way here is a death sequence in 6 frames, it's a pity we don't have more frames in everything else, and so many in death...

Thanks TIX, this is super helpful, especially to a graphic designer who is learning about a lot of this for the first time! (i.e. me!) :)

 

So, my understanding is - each "tile" or section is 8 pixels by 16 pixels, but each pixel is 2x wide as it is tall. So I will make everything 2x taller to accommodate for this.

The question to @Jaden (JRH) and @gambler172 is - how many unique tiles do we have available per level?

Could you put the whole thing in raster....then i try to design

this for a complete new level.

Also here is spritesheet 1.3,

includes tweaks on the ghosts and pacman,

plus new pacman death and jump frames !  I'm still not sure if there is a separate frame when he fires !?!?!?

Wait, fires? Since when did Pac-Land have shooting in it?

 

These sprites are looking fantastic though, TIX! I really love the outlines and the expressions here. They're so poppy and cartoon-y and they definitely do the arcade original justice. The only problem is just that they're on the small side, but that's just how the Bentley engine works.

Yeah, PacMan doesn't "fire" anything. Perhaps the "gem" can just removed altogether so that there *is no* shooting frame.

 

@TIX The sprites look FANTASTIC! So goooood!

I'm talking about the engine, not Pacland in general !

With the condition we are going with this engine's limitations, it's a given that this game will never be Pacland..

Let's say its Pacland prequel or sequel or at least in the Pacland "universe".

For me more important (apart for the graphics) is to at least have some physics of the game in place.

for example:

  • objects don't kill pacman ?
  • eating the "gem" turns the enemies blue/eatable ?
  • make the planes fire bombs ?

ofcourse we can forget all the reverse log platfom levels, magic boot jumps, dark levels, lake jumps, etc

So it's not so bad to include fire, end bosses or whatever we have available !

 

@PacManPlus  Bob where are you ?  we need you  :)

In our Pacland game,Pacman can shoot....i could take this option out,but you never beat a stage.

Airplanes cannot fire bombs.Ghost do not turn blue

when Pacman eats a pill or a bonus object.One last

time....THIS is a Pacland fangame in style of Bentley Bear....for sure it has the options and 

possibilities of the Bentley editor.NO MORE.

I hope now,everybody understands.So please

play Bentley and you know,what kind of game

you will get.

Hi Tix

The objects will always kill Pacman.If i creat objects

which are harmful,then i must use tiles,which are

touchable....i have for a level 64 tiles,which are untouchable,for background,like houses,trees......

I have 8 tile for ending a level....this means,if i touch

this,the stage ends here and you go to next level.

The other tiles are touchable....i use them,so that

Pacman can walk or jump on them,without being

hurt.The tiles 1-64 are the untouchable ones....

the last 8 tiles are for ending.......the rest in between is touchable.

I have also bonus objects.....INVISIBLE......one,which ends the level.

One to reach a secret level,if we make one.

Then the spectre-defeating yellow ‘Pellet’ will become a bullet-pellet...

In ‘Bentley Bear Crystan Quest’ - you have this ‘smart-thing’ in picking up a hat (silly-looking), which makes you not just invincible, but takes down any enemy you touch/run through...

 

... can you find the hat-thing in the editor...?

... can you find the hat-thing in the editor...?

in our game...this is the yellow item with an i  in it

if you touch,you are invisible,but touching monsters 

will kill them ?...but only for a short time
