+DjayBee
Tadaa, @ijor's new conversion works well. No bad sectors, correct data in all sectors and still working copy protection (track 3 has 21 sectors). +SoulBuster
Fantastic! I added a link to the message above for the corrected ATX on the first post. I left the original zip alone.

Seems that the index alignment of these new dumps are completely different than your older dump two years ago. I am now using a high density disk drive vs. a double density previously. For backside disks, I slice them open and flip the media and record. SynGraph is not on the backside. None of these protos are.

Changing to a high density drive shouldn't produce this completely different index alignment. There might be a software (or hardware) issue here. Which hardware and software are you using to produce the SCP images? Which dumping parameters, if any, are you using? Would you mind making a new dump of any older Electronic Arts disk for testing purposes? Such as Mule, Archon, Pinball Construction Set or any other ECA title from 1983. These titles are excellent for testing purposes because they were all duplicated with exactly the same known index alignment. +SoulBuster
Here is Mule. Mule.zip Other than changing the revolutions to 5 and the target device to image, I do not change any other settings and use it as it boots.

You should use Index mode instead. When using Splice mode the index location and the skew align is completely altered; also in general the image is not very precise. Some titles won't even work at all. As a matter of fact, that MULE image doesn't load precisely because of this reason. Please also add one more track, up to track 40. It is not mandatory, and not nearly as important as using Index mode. But some original disks have a very useful duplication record on that track. 1

Yes, we probably should. And it was probably also partially our fault that we didn't check before, that those dumps were made using Splice mode. On 6/21/2023 at 8:48 AM, SoulBuster said: I am now using a high density disk drive vs. a double density previously. No big harm was done anyway. Seems that only recent dumps are affected. At least the older Syngraph dump was most likely performed using Index mode. So I guess that, at least, all older dumps are also fine in this regards. +SoulBuster
That is it for re-records. I spent the last few days getting my SuperCard Pro hardware setup correctly. Man this is a BITCH. Finally got it done. Here is some advice for anyone else that will be using a8rawconv for making SCPs. Run the setup as administrator. Logging in as an administrator is not necessary, but does work. When installing and access is denied for the System32 folder: disable any antivirus, try again. Still no access, you have to uninstall antivirus, try again. I had to with Norton. To get the Virtual Com Ports to work you have to enable them. This took me awhile, because it was not named FTDI in device manager. I only found it by unplugging the Card and watching device manager to see what disappeared. Called "USB Serial Converter" Check the box next to Load VCP and reboot. You will now have the com port available. @A8SP, Is there a step-by-step that shows everything that is needed? I could not find one. Hope this helps others. New recording of mule Mule.atx. Is this better?
