The boxed version of Frenzy in the AtariAge Store is $50.00 (and I'm out of boxes at the moment), so $30 for each of the games with a box seems fair to me.  This also means Berzerk gets more attention, with a proper box, manual, and cartridge label.

Well when you put it like that it does make sense. Still, I'm glad to have the combined package for convenience. The new artwork is indeed quite nice.

If Atari bought the Epyx catalog, they MUST add the Lynx launch titles and both Lynx and Jaguar versions of Checkered Flag and Blue Lightning to Atari 50 IMMEDIATELY.

Agreed. Id like to see the Lynx pack in California Games.

Also-It would be nice if they did the 8 bit version of Summer Games on the 400 mini. They gave you Caverns of Mars on the latest firmware update, Id like to see them do the same with Summer Games.

I'm glad they are acknowledging @PacManPlus authorship. Otherwise he would have to leave and form is own company called Activision.

This is hilarious on so many levels.  It was this reason that I think the video game crash happened... all the good coders left Atari.  Reminds me of the Bender comment about starting his own casino as well...

I'm really eager to play Bounty Bob, as that was one of my favorite games on the Atari 8-bit back in the day

Me too! For me it is the best game of the lot. I am happy that Atari/Plaion are releasing new games (for people like me, who did not buy the AA releases), my wallet is less happy 😂

Any chance this will have a sd card slot? I think a cool alternative would be to allocate some internal memory where you could save a few of your favorites from the cart dumps.  Of course I will buy one but seems like a repacked upgrade of the 2600+?

There is no SD card slot.

I love to see Rogue released for the VCS 800... I'd be ALL over that!

Atari applied for a trademark for Rogue months ago. I know Rogue is not exactly completely owned by any one entity, but Atari did file for it.

Q: Are the pre-orders global?

(For exampke: Can I, living in Norway, Europe, now place my pre-orders on Ataris site, and sit back and wait for the launch and delivery witout any further ado/actions?)

I had the same question. When clicking the pre-order button, I don't see an option for PAL, so I assume these new games are all NTSC?

Will there be local distribution in Europe, just like the recently three re-released 7800 games (Fatal Run, Ninja Golf and Food Fight)?

There will be local distribution and all games will be NTSC. Ben from Plaion stated that in the 2600+ thread about the new consoles, accessoires and games.

For us, Dutch people, Plaion will do distribution for the Benelux, but no news about the retailers.

Yes, they'll roll out internationally from today, similar retail distribution as 2600+.

Plaion Nordic will have stock for retail.

I just wanna say congrats to Bob

I know Bobby D told me once that his games being released under the official Atari banner would mean so much to him. And now look at this! LOL. Watching the new 7800+ commercial featuring Bentley Bear made me smile from ear to ear for this guy that really helped save the system back in the double aughts and 2010's. Bob- you are the greatest baby and you deserve the attention.

Yeah, my favorite version is the Epyx one on the Atari ST / Amiga.  The DOS version looks horrible.

This is awesome, but I prefer the US 7800 with the smaller stripe.

exactly, i was stoked when i clicked on the link then very disappointed when i saw it was the hideous looking euro large rainbow version, it's a deal breaker for me. the original north american 7800 has gorgeous sleek & minimalist look which is completely ruined by that out of proportion large rainbow & logo on the euro design which makes the 7800 look like a cheap plug n' play kids toy.

Atari please release the North American version!

           ....oh and a Lynx+   ...and a Jaguar+ 😄

I love the look of the 7800+. I've been drooling over the 2600+ since it was announced, but couldn't quite pull the trigger on it. Good thing I didn't yet. Now I'm thinking of selling off my composite modded 2600 Jr, and 7800 for an HDMI upgrade. My Amazon upscaler just doesn't do its graphics justice with composite out.

The only saving grace I can give to the decision to use the European 7800 is that it does come with the European controllers. So it kind of makes sense in that context, but I think the US version looks better.

Can you imagine that. A fan giving his favorite retro console the history he wished it had then to end up.doing it officially.

Congrats @PacManPlus Living the dream. Pinch yourself.

A Lynx+ would be amazing.  Finally fixing the main issue of the Lynx; the battery life.  Plus with modern oled displays...

A Jaguar+?  But then I couldn't get away with selling my Jag+CD for 1k... not that I'd ever part with it, but that seems to be the going price... or more.

You’ve got to be in the minority / low exception of those to dislike it. I’ve never heard anyone dislike the large logo version.

There are many threads where people have gone out of their way to get a PAL 7800 shell just for that reason.

I grew up with the U.S. version and was always envious that we didn’t get this version. The 2600 Jr (variant) had the large logo and I loved it. The skinny one is so puny and almost nonexistent. Clearly this is a matter of personal preference and taste but no way could I have imagined these shipping with ProLines for example. Those things are awful!

Though I do love the modded evolved proline paddles that V61 did, Atari should pick that idea up!

Thanks Vin - that is VERY kind of you.  It DOES mean a lot to me.... and it did make me smile seeing Bentley Bear in the commercial; I had no idea they were going to include it as a pack in.  Thank you!!! :)
