Items for Atari 2600 manufactured in Brazil

While on the subject, there's a problem when you add carts based by other people's picture... I happen to have bought this cart, now check other side's label. Who's the manufacturer?

In this case I consider them both as manufacturer.

BTW, Rom, since Fotomania and other shops used to replace the labels, do you consider them as publishers anyway?

Not as official publishers.

If I do know the official publisher, the title will also be added to that publisher.

I think it's interesting to give Fotomania, Show Game (Camping Tur Ltda) and Video Arte their own section in the database.

After all, they did have their own labels.

One question:

Is that an original box? I had only seen a cardboard box for the Splice supercharger untill today.

The box of the "Comp-K7" is not original, I made it to keep.

I go to place plus some models of joysticks for Atari 2600.

* Joystick model 'TPC-4' manufactured for Dynacom can be used by Atari 2600 and Master System. The selector is a key under of joystick (Master / Atari). See manual (instructions).

It has a plastic part that can be placed (incased, introduced) to modify the way to play.

* Joystick great was manufactured for Milmar ("Dactar"). It has two buttons of shot to facilitate the use. This model has a variation with rubber in the inferior part of the 'axle'.

A console model "Dactar" (one of the models) came with these joysticks when it was bought. Under of joystick in some models it comes recorded (in relief) in the plastic some information about the manufacture.

* Joystick manufactured by Dynacom model "Basic Keyboard" is similar to the "Keyboard Controller" (or "Atari Keypad").

It's different of the "Keyboard Controller" therefore is only one joystick. (with two plugs)

This control came in the box with cartridge "Basic" of Dynacom ("Basic Programming").

Approach measures: 13,8 x 6,9 x 2,3 cm

* The cartridges "Digimax" have front label with similar image to the cartridges of manufacturer "JVP" (not all). Cart "Digimax" (with red label, different) has an interesting image and an 'explosion' in front label.

Some cartridges with two games have the selection of the game through the "touch of the fingers" in two small metallic points in the behind part of cartridge. Others use a key in the lateral of the cartridge to select the game.

In the screen from TV in the game "Defender" appears "Digimax 84".

In the games Pitfall, Keystone Kappers, Megamania and HERO appear "Copyright 1984 >> Digimax" in the TV. During the game appears "Digimax".

In the games Demon Attack and Super Soccer appears "Digimax".

In the initial screen of the Seaquest game appears "Seaquest 84 >> Digimax".

In the Atlantis game appears "© 84 Digimax".

In the Phoenix game it appears "Digimax 1984".

In the initial screen of the game Moon Patrol appears "Moon Patrol -- Digimax 1984".

They are all with excellent labels, Sr. Ferraz...

Are all of them original labels? It's not easy to find Brazilian cartridges with so clean labels.

I have a lot of Brazilian carts around here but just a few with so good labels.

BTW...nice collection! :)

Great friend Road_runner,

Thank you for your gentile words.

All carts are with original labels except the game Defender. (I made end label)

The cartridge with game Montezuma's Revenge is with the front label damaged. :(

Excellent weekend for you and your family.

* An item very rare to find is "Copy Game", manufactured for 'Micro Hard Equipamentos Eletronicos Ltda'.

Copy Game is composed for two parts: Copying (bigger module - ROM) & Simulator of cartridge (lesser module - RAM).

It executes (makes) three functions (operations):

> To copy a game from Atari cartridge for a K7 tape.

> To reproduce in Atari a previously recorded game in a K7 tape. (*with Copy Game)

> To copy a game of a K7 tape for another K7 tape.

Original AC power adapter from Atari is connected in the Copy Game (great module) and of it goes for Atari through two plugs. (see details in the manual, instructions, page 3)

It informs the status of functioning through three LEDS (green, red and yellow).

Information: Ready, Reading, Recording, Error of reading, Finished operation. (combination of the lighted LEDS indicates the status)

The module has a key in the lateral (power on / off). In the panel it has the selection key (Write/Read) and a button to pressure type 'push-button' (Start).

The biggest module has two plugs to connect in the tape recorder ("Mic" & "Ear")

- During the reading of the game (selector key in "Read") from a K7 tape the Atari is 'off' (the game is transferred to the "simulator of cartridge" - small module).

After the reading of the game is removed the "Copying" (bigger module). The game is recorded in the "Simulator of cartridge" and then it's played normally in Atari.

- To copy game from K7 tape for another K7 tape (key in "read" position) first transfers the game to the device (bigger module), tape recorder in "Play".

Later places the another tape K7 in tape recorder and pressures "Rec" and "Play". (key in "write" position)

- To transfer the game from a cartridge it's transferred for the K7 tape (key in "write" position). Later transferring from K7 tape to the "simulator of cartridge" as I informed above.

With K7 tape 'C-60' (30 minutes of each side) it's possible to record up to 40 games of each side.

All the images had been courtesy of a great friend here in Brazil (very considerate person), improved a little for better visualization.

I never see information or image about the "Copy Game" in the Internet.

It functions normally with games of 2 and 4K (first and second 'generation').

The manual (instructions) is simple and also the images in it.

Incredible.

I thought I had seen all Atari VCS 2600 game copiers.

Thanks again for sharing, Sr. Ferraz!

Really amazing.

Dear friend Rom,

Really this item is very rare, is a variation of the 'Supercharger' (better therefore it copies the game).

I go to inform here about another 'Supercharger', manufactured in Brazil for "VGS" ("Game Charger").

Excellent Sunday for you.

I don't know much about the brazilian market. Is the garbled english on some games just a matter of mistranslation or is it some kind of scheme to avoid the notice of the original manufacturers? It can be quite funny. I'd love to find some of these games for a good price some day.

Is there a region in the us or in another country (aside from brazil, obviously) where they tend to show up more often?

Also, how many original brazilian 2600 games (not pirates of US companies games) are there?

Dear friend stop_rebel_scum,

Brazil has many collectors and people who like of Atari 2600. Here it has many negotiations and 'sale' from items of it.

In Ebay you find some items manufactured here for sale. (not always)

Some collectors in the world have items manufactured in Brazil.

The manufacturers some times placed the name of the game wrong, modified for Portuguese or others.

Game "Donald Duck's Speed Boat" for example was manufactured (launched) here in Brazil for some manufacturers. (with different names)

I cannot confirm but for example some games by CCE seem to be of this manufacturer.

Perhaps (maybe) the games "Pizza Chef" and "Bingo" are of CCE. It's the same 'case' of the game "Xevious".

Dear friend Omegamatrix,

It's really very interesting.

You can always use it, when you "load" another game the cartridge function with this new game.

It functions as a "Supercharger".

* I obtained a new announcement (ads) of the Supercharger by Canal 3.

The original image was very bad (scribbled with pen), after working hours I obtained to improve this image for better visualization.

I placed below the image after the improvement (much better) and the original (bad).

I didn't improve more because it would delay hours...

I wait that they appreciate.

There are no true CCE originals.

Stone Age, Pizza Chef, Immies & Aggies and A Misterious Thief are most probably all original Suntek titles (yes, not even ZiMAG/Emag/Vidco originals) and Bingo is a hack of Dice Puzzle from Sancho.

Xevious is a prototype from Atari.

Dear friend mister_pal,

The announcement (ads) informs about the Supercharger by canal 3 and as to use it. (it uses K7 tape and is cheaper, in the purchase of the Supercharger you gain 10 games in K7 tape, to rent is cheaper and list of games).

It also informs that they manufacture cartridges for Atari 2600.

The first question (in blue, top), question: What are you waiting?

Thanks for the interest.

Dear friend Rom,

Thanks for the information !

>> I obtained with a friend and I also added the manual (instructions) of the Milmar "Memory Game" with 128 games (page 4 of this topic) and a new image of the list of games (scan, better).

The cartridge with name "Conector" has colored and interesting label.

It also has one another label with the detail of the name "Conector" in black color (see image).

I believe that this manufacturer before used name "PROM" in carts and later modified for "Conector". (see images)

In the great box it's written "NTDE". In some games I placed the code (model number) from manufacturer (DD- )

I have 4 carts of this manufacturer, only one with original end label.

Games:

* 4 in 1:

> Q*Bert / Flash Gordon / Fishing Derby / Mash

> Bachelor Party / Beat 'Em & Eat 'Em / Bachelorette Party / Philly Flasher (no end label)

> Megamania / Futebol / Towering Inferno / Turmoil

> Buck Rogers / Mario Bros / Chuck Norris / Pole Position

> Frostbite / Space Cavern / Bermuda Triangle / Gopher

> Rock'N Rope / Gremelins / Snoopy / Kangaroo

> Pac Man / Surround / Chopper Command / Command Raid

>> Mouse Trap / Defender / Space Masters / Dragon Fire

* 2 in 1:

> Super Cobra / Montesuma's (Montezuma's Revenge) (original label was bad, new label)

> Popeye / Gyrus (in the box it is written 'Girus / Popeye') -- DD-5

> Montesuma / Gyrus (in the box it is written 'Girus / Montezuma') -- DD-3

> Montesuma / Super Cobra -- DD-6

> Command Raid / Chopper Command

> Bank Heist / Bobby (is going home)

> Super Cobra / James Bond

> Ms. Pac Man / Smurf

> Basketball / Bowling

* One Game:

> H.E.R.O.

> Keystone Kapers ('Prom' Label)

> Popeye

> Star Wars III

> Tennis

Thanks, Sr. Ferraz!

The Bank Heist / Bobby cart is the one with the black Conector logo, right?

These are originally carts from Prom (as you can see, the name Prom is underneath the Conector logo).

There's certainly a connection between Conector and Prom carts.

Maybe Conector was first called Prom or maybe Conector took over the carts that were released by Prom:

Congratulations, Sr. Ferraz!

Your topic is now pinned.

Dear Rom,

The cartridge that I have with label of the front with black "Conector" name has the games Command Raid & Chopper Command.

I don't have cart with the games Bank Heist & Bobby.

I had seen under of "Conector" name it really had another name with white color.

I believe that the manufacturer used before the name "PROM", later modified for "Conector".

Thanks a lot friend, you helped me very and gave "force" to continue this topic.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH !

I would like to be thankful the all that help me and contribute in this topic.

I remember that my intention here is not to show my collection but to show that in Brazil some items for Atari 2600 had been manufactured.

I want to contribute with information, photos and scans for all the community of AtariAge in the world.

Information, photos and scans are 'welcome'.

Special thanks to my friends Rom Hunter, Omegamatrix, Foxsolo2000, sku_u and all that help me and if interest for this topic.
