AtariGeezer
I wondered who contacted the seller and had them remove it from the auction eBay Auction -- Item Number: 170954150724 that really bummed me out, I was trying to get all the LJK software. Understandable, but I didn't want this one taken out from under me, like other auctions where someone made a higher offer right after I bought it and had a tracking number... +orpheuswaking
I was looking at that too. Stephen, you are right, the shipping was stupid which is why I passed.
suspicious_milk
Holy Crap... that's a helluva find. I can come help you sort it all out - my car has plenty of room Got a decent deal on eBay; nothing I don't already have, but getting to use as spares/backups. The 800XL I'll probably sell after I tinker with it a bit. I still prefer my XEgs (detachable keyboard with extension cable). The Indus GT will be nice. Hope it all works! eBay Auction -- Item Number: 221162099377 Well, Items arrived are all pretty filthy (expected from the pictures). They were geometrically arranged in what could only be described as "a big pile" in an tattered cardboard box. The packing protections was a careful selection of plastic grocery bags - - at least ten, mind you. Apparently, he's selling crap on eBay to support his porn habit, as a receipt addressed to him was also in the box... apparently he recently ordered quite an extensive DVD collection of all things lesbians. Not bad thing; just sayin'. XEgs keyboard has a stuck shift key and other minor issues. I have another keyboard that's busted, between the two - I can make a fully functional one. The XEgs itself, while dirty and a little beat up, does appear to work AOK. The 800xl passes self test, is dirty, and passes self test. Did I mention the self test? Good, because that's what boots up by default (I'm hoping the OPTION key is stuck internally and can just be cleaned). Carts, SIO2SD, & tapes all appear to load and play just fine with it. The power supply is 100% working. The 410 will LOAD, but FF and RW do not work. The Indus GT! A bit dirty, and the floppy door is crooked if you're looking close, but it powers up and shortly there after displays track 39. No time for further testing; but I'm hopeful = = = I think this one will actually work. We'll see. Now I need another SIO cable . . .

There is only an opening spring on one side, so that side develops a twist over time- especially if it's stored in a warm environment. I've removed the doors and used a heat gun to gently twist them back into position, but you have to be really careful.

May get some time to test it tomorrow. The 800xl and XEgs both look awesome after their good cleaning (esp the 800) - now I gotta clean the insides. The buttons on the Indus feel "funny" to me. If I click them in, I can "rock" them back and forth while they are pushed. That normal? They good and stiff though (no porn jokes).

jacobus
Local Craig's List find. The drive is dead as advertised, but the 800XL does work and is supposed to contain a RAMROD. I need to test further. Interesting selection of rare carts - sadly no sign of the Chalk Board. (I am entertaining offers!)

That looks like the one I was going to bid on, but dozed off to sleep briefly, and when I woke up the auction was over. LOL Robert

It seems the price is going up... and this one is discounted: ICD P: R: Connection Either that or the box is worth 20x the value of the device... flashjazzcat
If only I had know, I would have sold you one of my spares Well, thanks nevertheless. That looks like the one I was going to bid on, but dozed off to sleep briefly, and when I woke up the auction was over. LOL Thanks! Good thing you got it when you did too. It seems the price is going up... and this one is discounted: ICD P: R: Connection Either that or the box is worth 20x the value of the device... I wondered if the box had something to do with it, but nevertheless I think that one's been for sale for about two years. It must be appreciating in value the longer it sits there. This one's a better buy IMO, since it has the printer cable I had to buy a hooded D15 connector to make: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 130816642870

Rybags
Arrived yesterday - 800XL motherboard with issues, powers up to red screen only. MT Ram onboard so there's a big clue. About half the board inc the Ram is soldered rather than socketed, what a pain. At the $2 junk shop today, saw they had those cassette adaptors with the stereo input plug so I grabbed one. Might try some high-speed tape shenanigans some time.
+SoulBuster
I received this today: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 390511097018 Opened the package and immediately heard something rolling around inside the case. Opened the case and found a piece of metal about the size of a quarter. I decided to check the rest of it out and found that some of the power connections were loose and the traces were missing (flimsy XF551 PCB). Time for repair. I destroyed a fan for a PC to get wire. I figured the wire for the repair should be fairly hefty, since it was power and proceeded to make all of the connections. It took me 2 hours to repair and now I have a perfectly good working XF551. Kind of an ugly job but it works.
sooty
Got myself a PAL 800 which I might get it in time for the christmas holidays. Its got keyboard issues so I will have to see how bad when it turns up. Probably paid over the odds but UK spec machines seem to go for a lot more than the NTSC versions. sooty
No I saw that one also, this looks fine just with a defective keyboard.
sooty
Would have got some nice disks from a bloke on eBay but found out he could get more so has relisted them. Merry Christmas Did get a couple of carts off him so I shall console myself with that.
OBO
OK, I'm still searching for a 400 and a 800 in PAL... but won't spend too much on these. Latest I saw both were listed as "working" but had bottom case damages like they were dropped. -------- Latest thing I bought related to Atari : I bought an Atari "Deluxe Joystick" (the one that was with the 7800, not the joypad one). 2 days later, it refuses to go right. Gotta open this thing...
