VectorGamer
5. Mouse Trap (Colecovision) 1,635 minutes (rmaerz couldn't get this out of his Colecovision) 6. Pepper II (Colecovision) 1,350 minutes (except to play this game) You know what? Since achieving the #2 position on the TG scoreboard for Mouse Trap Game #1, I find it difficult to play this game because I know that I can crush the #1 record. Therefore, playing the game without attempting to break the record is fruitless... Pepper II I have no problems playing over and over again. However, since I have it loaded on one of the arcade cabinets I find no reason to play the ColecoVision version anymore (along with other games). Unfortunately for the home console games, if I have access to the arcade ROM then it trumps the console port version. The only port that comes to mind that is better than the arcade version is Jr. Pac-Man for the 7800.

Looks like whatever I decide to play this weekend will be the Top Tep I've been playing very little...we've been working on the basement in preparation for Retrocade III Saturday night. There'll be a crap load of gaming going on then, especially since we have the Indy 500 tournament and a lot of Galaga trash talkers showing up... Kurt_Woloch
OK, here are my times for this week: The classic game: Crystals of Zong (C-64): 28 minutes in 2 sessions The non-classic games (irrelevant for the Top 10): Crazy Taxi: 368 minutes in 5 sessions Restaurant Simulation: 38 minutes in 2 sessions Busy Restaurant: 27 minutes in 2 sessions As you may have noticed, I didn't play many classic games again this week. I suppose my attention has somewhat shifted away from those. Keep in mind that the original timespan I massively played the Atari 2600 games was only one year (from January through December 1984). Now I've relatively intensively played them for over 2 more years. Having the ability to try out all the games that have been released for that system somewhat lengthens the usable timespan for Atari 2600 games for me, but not indefinitely... I feel I'm getting tired of those retro games, at least for now. Similar thing for the other consoles, and basically some games are only clones of each other or versions on other systems, where I always preferred to play the original arcade version, only couldn't afford it back then (or the original machines weren't even put up anymore, so I had to do with an Atari 2600, TI-99 or C-64 version). But you may have noticed from the modern games I'm playing now that they still are the basic type of games that are relatively fast to play (OK, some games on "Crazy Taxi" now already take 32-34 minutes, but that's about it). There's not that much of a leap upwards from the classic "Pole position" to "Crazy Taxi". OK, of course the graphics are MUCH better, but all in all it's still the concept of playing against a time limit and getting extra time once you reach some pre-defined goal (in this case, each time you pick up a new customer). And if you don't reach any goal, time runs out pretty quickly... you only have 70 seconds under arcade rules if you don't pick up any customers.
