nosty
I'm confused. I don't believe that Kjmann is "simply pirate". He trades Atari stuff many many years. So I think this is rather a little misunderstanding. I wrote pm to Kjmann and I hope he explain this mistake. He sells 'Space Harrier', 'Yoomp', anything he can find and put on a MaxFlash cart. I've heard of him being very slow, and sometimes just plain not delivering items he has received money for. About 'Quad', I never heard of it before. Maybe take this opportunity to introduce us to where it can be purchased legally. Right now, he's moving to Oregon from someplace, so he's probably not going to be available. I would guess he gets very little business. I would say he gets no permission for 99.9999% of the commercial, copyright games he sells.

No you don't "cancel" forum accounts, simply stay away and do not return if you have issues with the board. You could also simply ignore certain posts and even block users you have an issue with, instead of attempting to dictate what can and cannot be posted here. How about simply ignore threads that don't meet with your approval.

People ask me all the time if I can sell them multi-carts with games and I tell them no, I can't. I'm including the carts as a bonus, but if this isn't kosher I'll stop doing it. I'm not making a profit. For example, after buying an A800 on eBay for $40, adding the $20 multi-cart, another $40 for the joysticks, and $10 for the cable, you can see it comes to $110. (At least I'm getting the joysticks and carts for cheaper now that I buy them in quantity.) If I have to buy a new keyboard or some other component, I kick up the price a bit. As you point out (with eBay fees and such), it's a losing proposition. That's why it's a hobby rather than a business. I really enjoy tinkering with these old machines (especially the A800, which was my first computer). I don't know how much longer I'll be doing it, but I'm having a good time.

I don't see anything wrong with what you're doing, and I don't see anything wrong with what KJMANN is doing, either. I suppose if a particular copyright owner wanted to complain, I'd understand, but I don't think there are; people who complain are NOT the copyright owners, just complainers. I don't see how selling 30-year-old games (that have no relation whatsoever to the current market) can have any impact on anything, except maybe create some fun for someone who would otherwise never get to play. I don't condone selling other people's work w/o permission (especially recent stuff). But what I would LOVE to see is what "freebies" exist in the personal collections of the loud whiners and trouble makers. I have a feeling if that info were public, they might not make so much noise. the.golden.ax
People like Hozer that sell blatant copies of homebrewers efforts, and knock offs that are clearly deceptive for huge profits on eBay to buyers who just don't know any better are the enemy. Compilations of classics are a service. These in-one carts are nothing more than convenience, not gold digging IMHO. AX

I am new to collecting for the atari computers, but I like the in-one carts. It is a huge convenience. I would imagine that if a homebrewer couls just simply ask him to remove their game from his offerings. That seems reasonable.
