I got to rack 256 on Solar Fox.  It took me to rack 1 but it said rack 0.  There were a few extra cells (or whatever they're called) on the bottom.  I cleared the rack and then nothing happened.

It was my last life so losing a life didn't do anything.  Does the game continue somehow?

When you get to rack 255, you have to skip rack 256, then it will go to rack 1 and continue.  When you skip rack 256, your score will drop a little, around 100,000 but the game continues.  You keep all your extra lives and the score continues to go up.  When you are at rack 254, you cannot skip a rack or you go to 256 and the game will end.  According to TG, high score is 15-16 million so you are on your way.  I'm too old to sit on the floor too long so I usually end at rack 256 but made it to around 8.6 mil with all seven lives left.  When you beat my 8.6 mil, it will motivate me to get higher scores.

Good luck.  Great score.  Congrats.

So I go to Mikado relatively regularly, and since near the end of 2021, every Wednesday without fail there is a Tokimeki Memorial Taisen Pazurudama tournament there. I finally played it, but...

Arcade
Hishouzame - 92
Out Zone - 66
Slap Fight - 6
Vimana - 34

Saturn
Tokimeki Memorial Taisen Pazurudama - 335

"Let's make one of those VS. mode puzzle games. We have all of those cute girls from our game Tokimeki Memorial, and everyone loves that game and the aforementioned cute girls, so let's have said cute girls as the playable characters and make the game REALLY REALLY REALLY FUCKING DIFFICULT in single player!" - Konami, apparently. This is easily one of the hardest games I've ever played, somehow. This is about as difficult as Tatsujin Ou, so if you hate yourself or just enjoy pain, you should play both this game and Tatsujin Ou, but unlike Tatsujin Ou, this game is actually very well designed and not a completely broken piece of garbage! I still like Tatsujin Ou even though it's a horrible game, though.

G/MD
Daisenpuu - 34

Microbee 32:
Hopper - 5 min.

Ineligible: Advanced Civilization board game - 600 min.

So another week passed by, with barely any time/energy to play video games. As part of my testing duties, I loaded Hopper on the Microbee though. Also I spent the entire Saturday playing Adv Civ at a friend's house, which is a yearly tradition since 2016, I think.

Here are my times for this past week (February 20th through 26th) on classic games....

MS-DOS:

Pac-Man - 16 min.

MSX:

Chuckie Egg - 16 min.

This week I revisited the MS-DOS version of Pac-Man, in which I reached over 33.000 points. Then I got inspired by a version of Chuckie Egg by Arlasoft for Pac-Man arcade hardware, but I played the MSX version instead. Although the original is on the ZX Spectrum, they enhanced the game graphically in different ways for each port, for instance, in the MSX version the main character is multicolored, and so are the bricks he walks on. For a platformer this is pretty well made, including the physics. It's in the same vein as "The mine" for the TI-99 or "Miner 2049er", but it's a bit better playable due to the more advanced physics.

This week I played:

007: The World Is Not Enough for Nintendo 64 - 211 minutes

Bust-a-Move for Game Gear - 141 minutes

Final Fantasy VII for Playstation - 330 minutes

Sonic Adventure for Dreamcast - 193 minutes

Sonic Blast for Game Gear - 73 minutes

Star Fox for Super Nintendo - 36 minutes

Progress:

007: TWINE - I started and completed Agent mode

Final Fantasy VII - I finished the game easily by just having a very good materia setup and plenty of Turbo Ethers.

Sonic Adventure - completed Sonic's story, then probably a little over half of Tails' story.

Sonic Blast - completed the game with all emeralds as Sonic.

Star Fox - completed difficulty level 1.

Week of 2/20/23 - 2/26/23

Atari 2600

Miner 2049er - 15

Miner 2049er Vol. II - 20

Solar Fox - 15

Commodore 64

Phantasie II - 50

Total time = 100 minutes

School vacation week so I didn't have a lot of time for gaming. The Atari 2600 version of the Miner 2049er games are definitely the worst I've played and frustratingly difficult. Is it even possible to jump over the aliens?

DOS

Tex Murphy: Mean Streets 257

Intellivision

Demon Attack 20

Ice Trek 51

Popeye 175

Some Inty HSC time, and I achieved adventure game stuck-ed-ness in Mean Streets.  UHS does not have it, so now to figure out how to get a hint without ruining the game.

Some good hacks have been done to those games:

Have you tried the Game Boy version? I feel like that’s harder than the 2600 version, or maybe it’s me.
