Dr Karnov
I'd never seen any 5200 stuff until last year when I was in America and I spotted the odd few 5200 carts in amongst the 2600 ones. Those things are big!!
Atari_Warlord
Is the update process for the 7800+ the same as the 2600+. Another option for a left handed wireless cx-40+ might be to have a special dongle rather than modifying the joystick.

pjpj
The 5200 versions of Popeye, Montezuma's Revenge, Gremlins, Zaxxon, and Super Breakout are just fantastic.

The controller looks like a Star Trek prop.

shane857
Are the current Atari games for sale on Amazon UK NTSC? Food fight, Ninja Golf etc. And will the next releases be NTSC only? Only reason I'm asking is cause of the PAL version issues like Food Fight on the 2600+.

What I have understood from Ben's posts: 7800 games in Europe = PAL, 2600 games in Europe = NTSC. That includes the current 7800 releases, they are PAL in Europe. DhaemonX
Does the 2600+ have the same wireless controller capability as the 7800+ has? People on YouTube are saying no, the 2600+ doesn't have it on the board. This true?

That’s why the controllers/dongle will work with original hardware, as well as, 2600+ & 7800+.
+sramirez2008
Btw, this tech has been available for quite some time. I have a wireless SEGA type controller (8BitDo M30) and dongle (8BitDo Retro Receiver) that I use with my OG 7800 and or 2600s.
infinite.pies
For New Zealand collectors, the 7800+, wireless controllers and all of the games have just appeared at Mighty Ape for delivery on November 29. There are discounts on all of the games and controllers (in addition to the usual free delivery) for Primate members.
guidedlight
@Ben from Plaion I notice one of the images for the new 7800 games on Amazon says “Compatible with Atari 2600+ & Atari 2600, Atari 7800+ & Atari 7800”. I’m confident those 7800 games won’t work on original 2600 hardware. 🧐

Unless somehow theres some new "secret 2600 screen" that new 7800 titles will have like when you put a GBC only game into an original Game Boy. "WE HAVE A 2600 BERZERK, GET A 7800 OR A + PLATFORM SYSTEM THATS COMPATIBLE OR JUST STARE AT THIS SCREEN, A $30 DOLLAR SCREEN."
Dr Karnov
It's just dawned on me that 2 of the new releases are maze shooters. That means we're all going to need to do a new "plus series maze shooter tier list" 1

That's the way how I play Commando 7800🤙 Edit: The 8bitdo receiver is BT and works with any pad (tested with 8bitdo arcade stick and Dualsense). The 7800+ dongle is 2.4GHz, less lag but only works with the CX78+ pad. So far I did not sense noticable lag via BT, the Atari games are not as critical as a Kick Off2 on Amiga was😉 Edited August 27 by DEANJIMMY
