Valler
A couple of details interest me. Don't necessarily mean it's fake or not - they could probably all be attributed to Menavision. I'm still on the fence. But I just find details interesting. First, the box is taller than the insert. I imagine the insert would fit loosely in that box. Vertically, anyway. Second, the insert looks like it's in two pieces. The smaller piece touching the cartridge doesn't look like it was cut evenly - there's a bit of a wave to its edges. There are also some art differences. One, the box artwork has been stretched horizontally, when compared to the cartridge art. Also, the lasers coming from the large UFO at the bottom. The ones on the box shooting downward are white, yet on the cartridge and on other photos of the cartridge online, they're red. Cebus Capucinis
Also, the lasers coming from the large UFO at the bottom. The ones shooting downward are white, yet on the cartridge and on other photos of the cartridge online, they're red. I don't know about that one. There's enough plaque on the cart that you can't really tell the color of such a thin ink. It may just be a visual trick because the plaque causes the colors to blend, like an optical illusion of sorts. I think one would need a clean label to able to verify that for certain, which in the case of Air Raid is practically impossible. EDIT: In fact, looking at a closeup of the cart, you can almost see small streams of white...but there is red coming right out of the very tips of the lasers nearest the UFO. I think plaque has caused this, rather than any intentional trickery.

homerwannabee
Any word on when the new auction will be listed, tanman? Well if he is uploading the pictures, than it should be any minute now.
atari_envy
First, the box is taller than the insert. I imagine the insert would fit loosely in that box. Vertically, anyway. I don't think so, or at least that is not definitive in this pic sitting on the carpet like that. Look at the last picture with the common cart boxes. It *appears* that Donkey Kong is slightly taller than Starmaster, much in the same way as the Air Raid insert. But when I pulled my Donkey Kong and Starmaster box and compared, they are the same size.
Rev
The box art actually cuts off part of the pic.the box is missing the bottom of the buildings and part of the road art. weird ,huh? Edited April 1, 2010 by revolutionika

cybercylon
Why is the old auction still up as well??? It's down now. I was on the fence with this one. I was leaning towards fake, but I wanted to wait and see if Tanman was going to start a new auction or not before deciding. Good luck on your auction.
