Before this failure, I had never even heard of Cornhole before, why would anyone think this is a hit-selling idea? 🤔

I member how someone mentioned cornhole being a "killer app" (lol) for amico, and everyone glommed onto it and that's how it came to be.  "NO ONE makes a good cornhole game!"  which isn't true, there's several decent ones and they are better and cheaper than the turd that amico got.  They talked about horse shoes and bocci ball too (it's italian, don'tcha'know!) but cornhole won out for some reason.

All of the games they are at all discussing these days (Cornholio, Farkle, Skiing, BackTalk) make me think of this as more like the (imposter) "Mo" than "BMO" for Adventure time fans.

Really sad.  When they were showing a new NightStalker, that Moon Patrol demo, Talking perhaps about a new EWJ (eh, could've been alright), Cloudy Mountain, that was cool shit.  But apparently that's all gone.

Now we have to "Pick a letter" or something.  Like, this "lineup" makes me think of the early days of the Odyssey 2.  Without the good stuff like UFO, Pick Axe Pete, KC Munchkin, etc.  Just the unbelievably lame stuff.

AND they can't even get that part to come out, or come out "right".   Whooooa.  Almost impressive in its buffoonery!

There we go with polls again, NOBODY ever polled me or my wife about ANYTHING.  All BS, polls are directed, that is why the orange clown and gramps are always near a tie.

EDIT: I'll have to find out how many of the 40 million people in CA play this weird game.

People don't understand the issues with sample size and such things. All media for a long time has been dumb in reporting findings from studies and such.

That's why I'm certain most of the focus polling ole Tommy did was in house. There was confirmation bias big time.

There would be a reason some people wouldn't have heard of it. I didn't know of it as cornhole but bag toss or bean bag toss. Same thing differemt name. If you don't have a back yard, or live in a climate that's cold all the time, you aren't going to most likely find or seek out games like that to play.

Other confounding variables for taglines like "fastest growing" deals with existence of leagues and such. Cornhole/washers/hillbilly golf type games have always been a staple where I live. However, not so much for leagues. So yeah after the creation of leagues the sport can then finally start growing. Which could make them "faster growing" than older sports that have had leagues around longer. Doesn't mean that as faster growing it will be bigger or as popular.

And it certainly doesn't equate to a killer app or sales. So faster growing or not, those number have nothing to do with video game software sales, and also doesn't factor in that bean bag toss games already exist.

Cornhole really isn't a great option even though I like the game. The barrier for entry for cornhole amounts to two pieces of wood and having something to throw. That's it. It is not as easy for me to build a bowling lane in my backyard. Cornhole was easier for him to do a photo amd act like he was doing work than the other options.

You are being too generous.  Just about everything he said was made up.  No reason this would not be any different.

Based on your experience with the games, what additional controller features does Back Talk Party use more so than other games.  I'm not interested in what others say.  Rather since you made that statement I'm interested in what games you played and what you found to be the difference in controller features

I said the developer did an interview. That's directly from the developer in that interview. I should have said specifically the microphone and display.

We should poll him on best hot sauces to use on tacos, whilst laughing at gaming company mishaps?

Speaking off, how many tacos do you think they could have bought with the $17 million instead of making a vaporware food takout box console?

I'm way more fair than Tommy and crew gave me credit for. What I said is still technically him making it us as it isn't real focus testing. It's like his definition of "working on the games" he sent an email and BEWM working on it. Didn't Mike Kennedy have the same type of stupid definition of things being worked on?

I did a little investigating and cornhole was first mentioned on page 40 (well it was on 26 but only in passing and not as an amico title)

image.thumb.png.b56d47e93ed79ba5ba207c3407551b27.png

and tommy was very quick to follow up with a probable lie:

image.thumb.png.419c81c9b4598f20eb083fcfc2725f6d.png

then some lame "poll" designed to drive tons of posts from the hopefuls... still almost nothing about it yet.  guessing he was talking about it some on "interviews", however. (page 114)

image.thumb.png.393d24143424838f0b8d809332ba9eff.png

when I re-read some of this stuff I just have to shake my head.  uttered again by tommy on page 149. card games are the most played genre on earth! woowwww

Quote

Yep!  Our software line-up is definitely super unique.  And yes... I think people are overlooking that fact.

In Sports... remember it's recreational sports as well!  So pool, darts, bocci, shuffleboard, cornhole, etc.!  All fall under that category as well.

The car game GrudgeQ spoke about would be considered New IP's.  Really unique experience that can only be played on Amico because of our controllers.

There are so many amazing Retro games... I don't think we'll ever run out!

What is the most played video game genre on the planet Earth?  Some might think Match 3 games?  1st person shooters?  MMORPG's?  Nope!  Not even close.  It's card games!  Yet not a single home console has ever focused on them.  Why?  Because they don't have a screen on the controller... and folks who typically play consoles are not interested in typical traditional card games (not including things like Magic & Hearthstone, etc.... those are hardcore experiences... I'm talking traditional playing card deck games).

things really take off on page 151 about it when the hopefuls finally notice it and tommy has to go on about it.  so maybe it wasn't a cheesy suggestion after all and I was wrong on that.  I just remember there being a big explosion in interest that seemed odd. looks like tommy laying on the bullshit thick was the reason.  Note the search hashes on the right in the scroll bar. Fastest growing sport in the world, don'tch'a'know!

image.thumb.png.40f4639196549fe36579781dd0225abe.png

image.thumb.png.6c085b3de21d667e5df68487cd5ddd58.png

weirdly it doesn't get mentioned again until page 203 or so with just a mention in passing and no followup.  On 207 drops this one:

Being 100% Italian I can tell you that Bocce is pretty cool.

It's similar to shuffleboard... BUT WITH BALLS!

Yeah... people dismiss the fact that a lot of recreational sports can't be played in most places for 4 to 5 months out of the year.  And those months are when most family gatherings occur!  Thanksgiving, Christmas/Hanukkah, New Year's, etc.  Having simple fun access in your living room to outdoor type family games like horseshoes, cornhole, bocce, shuffleboard, etc. is going to make Amico very special and very attractive to folks.

Something that most people completely overlook, but I've been focusing on since the beginning.

Never minding the fact tommy is only 50% italian at best (mom is canadian, dad italian, born in the USA), apparently tommy only thinks people celebrate holidays during winter months and that is perfect time for amico!  No one celebrates easter, 4th of july, labor day, or memorial day and plays outside games then.  No one ever gets together on weekends in the summer either.  nope!

We never did hear more about bocce ball, shuffleboard (lol) or horseshoes again.  People overlooked these since there's very little interest compared to other games.  You're not going to see esports contests for bocce ball or horseshoes.

There are card games on the console. Consoles don't focus on card games because they know card players would rather spend $1 on a deck of cards to play than $250-$350.

Like I said his intellect is shallow. His depth of knowledge and ability to critically think isn't there.

Also it isn't that hard to play cornhole indoors. I've done it before during inclement weather.

I must confess,...Although I've seen it set up on the patios of microbreweries...I don't know the rules of cornhole.  Bag goes in hole,  yes?  Is there points?  Are you playing to a set number of points?  Or maybe you have a set number of throws?

Yeah, that's the whole problem with Tommy's logic, same for cornhole. I can believe a lot of Americans play cornhole/bag toss because it's very easy to set up if you have a yard (even indoors, it's still doable), while nobody has a bowling lane at home. But that's also precisely why people are more interested in bowling video games, because they can't play it at home.

You can apply for the job at your local UPS store.

It's simple. Players alternate throwing. Bag in the hole is worth 3 points while bag on board is 1. Scoring is done like this. You sink one bag for 3pts and have two more on board (total 5 pts). I sink two bags and get one on the board (7pts) for that round I get 2 points. You play to whoever gets 21 or more points.

How are you Hater Folder residents doing tonight?

Junior Beefy has the art bug and wanted to draw a running man of sorts.

The Back Talk Party developer talked about their games (Blank Slate the other) in an interview a few years ago. Saying that for a while, all that remained was updating the game for any changes to the system api. Although the console system is android based, it's still a different platform than Android. Back Talk Party uses controller features more so than other games and porting the Amico game to Android could be more work, especially if it's not the developer doing the porting.

All the games were developed by third parties. If IE doesn't have the source code, e.g. they don't own the source code, they wouldn't be able to port to Android, regardless of the development status of each game. Regarding the backend system developed internally, they claim things like downloading games and rfid support have been implemented. I suspect something like payment system integration might have been held back since it would involve a third party. Back in 2021/22, without a path to manufacturing and the company running out of money, things like that may have been put on hold.

It was understood, without saying it, that even with credible market research, it would still have to be proven in the market. Lots of risk. Doesn't mean companies shouldn't do market research, not for the press but for themselves. Maybe the right market research would have told them to stop this project before starting it.

Neither have I but according to a 2022 Ipsos poll, cornhole is the sport most played by Americans, edging out bowling and swimming.

You just really cannot help yourself from posting, can you?  People having a conversation and here you pop up to give nonsense perspectives no one has asked for or even cares to have from you!!  Do the world a favor and switch off for a while......I think master control is asking for you!
