By default the game has unlimited lives.  Basically a built-in cheat code.  Gotta love that.  There are limited lives based on the selected difficulty too.  Also, you can pause the game by moving the lever to the B&W option.

 

I'm glad to have a prototype game in my collection.  

I think I played the rom if it’s the same game I’m thinking of! That’s cool!

And even loose copies are so darn expensive (cheapest one I've seen is more expensive than buying a new 2600+ console).   Yeah, I don't think so! Maybe one day I'll get lucky at some bargain bin in a thrift store.

So counting both 7800 and 2600 games, I’m at a respectable 191 and one column away from filling up both my 2600+ drawers. I’ve got 2 more on the way that aren’t pictured below (Kool-Aid Man, and Private Eye). 

The majority of my games work on 1.1r2 FW. All are NTSC, and have been tested against my close to death 7800. 
 

Only games that don’t yet work are:

• Pitfall 2
• James Bond 007
• Smurf Rescue
• Time Pilot
• Zaxxon
• All 2600 games that need the keyboard controller

Time now to just kick back and work on my high scores. 👍🏼 

This is mesmerizing! I can look at this all day!

'Never' buy sealed Atari VCS/2600 games in my opinion bro, if you actually want to play the game. Most I have bought have not worked for some reason. You can buy H.E.R.O loose fairly cheap at the mo. I just bought a white label cart and it works, which is all that matters.

By the way, I like all the games in this lot.  Some more than others.  The Tron Deadly Discs is another good one.

Love this game, though I'm spoiled by the Intellivision version I had as a kid.  You could lay walls going horizontal and vertical, so could trap the cops..or put the wall right through their body if you were fast enough.

 

I have played the arcade version and forget if that requires you to exit after all the dashes are gone like this does, I know the Intellivision didn't.

You can trap the cops in the 2600 version, it is just very difficult.

I've seen a white label for Tron online from other sellers.  There must have been different labels for that game.  As for the Astroblast label, I had to make one because the original fell off.  The photo showed it before I bought the lot.  But once the games arrived, the Astroblast one was missing.  

 

Tron Deadly Discs comes in a blue label and white label.  I don't mind the white label.  Although I prefer the blue one.

That's good to know.  I have the 2600 version of Lock 'N' Chase.  Not sure if I can trap the cops.  I could try though.  Like you said, it's very difficult.

Plays great and the paddle works fine on this one, much better than Kaboom🤔

And it is RTFM... I learned the blue frog is a bear and I should stand still and aim when shooting back my eggs, otherwise the bird will dance even more😊

NTSC but runs fine on a PAL machine and the wrong colors don't matter😊

Two NTSC sealed games arrived today, Human Cannonball and Realsports Tennis.

 

Both work fine, boxes both a little squashed, and sadly HC is damaged down the sides, but they were a pretty good price and I wanted to replace the PAL copies I had. 

 

Compared to the smelly PAL versions Realsports Tennis has a nice larger screen and Human Cannonball takes place on grass instead of in the desert.

These Joysticks were sold in the late 80s with the label Multifunction or Microhändler.

I bought them 15 years ago, when I got a 7800 and found CX24 and CX78 were not good enough.

I added a switch to make them compatible with these controllers.

In 7800 mode the top button is A and the bottom one B.

In Paddle mode it is either a one button joystick with auto fire or two paddles, depending on the switch settings on the top.

I had to add two 500k potentiometers in row as the paddles are compatible to home computers and you could not reach the edges when playing paddle games (500k / 1M).

I had to adjust the potentiometers for the 2600+ again, now they are a bit off on original HW.

You can use a 1M Atari paddle on a C64 but a 500k home computer paddle causes issues on a  2600.

The micro switches were replaced by new ones too. You still could buy them from Conrad (our radio shack, before they closed doors).

Today I use a self built arcade stick but they still work and I use them as jitter free paddles😊
