Vyvyan B.
I know what you are saying, $200 for a floppy disk is just way too much! But hey, you're getting 50 of them and buying in bulk is always much, much, much, more expensive. I mean, think about it! Plus, you are getting a $15 rebate! +MrFish
I remember the last pack of 50 3.5" disks I bought, cost me $19.99 (~1996). I still have them all too -- except they've got data on them (Macintosh applications and backup files). Prices had dropped because of Zip / Syquest drives. I still have my Syquest drive and disks too. Edited December 4, 2022 by MrFish

+MrFish
I think I'd get more pleasure throwing money out the window of my car while driving down Main St. (maybe make little paper airplanes out of each bill first...).
Beeblebrox
So I've seen this individual selling many items on Ebay before. A lot - to my mind - is very over priced and the comms I've had with them I've found quite abrupt at times. (They are the seller selling the 600/800XL keyboard I posted here in this topic the other day for £100+) I saw this just now for a digital copy of De Re Atari which is pretty outrageous considering it is available for free to download in the public domain anyway, (here for example: https://archive.org/details/ataribooks-de-re-atari/mode/2up) They are selling a PDF of it for £1.95 which they send to you via Google drive!! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/144420158833?hash=item21a01cbd71:g:52EAAOSwtiliD4wG Hmmmm...... Yeah, that's it... I remember bragging about it at the time. Edited December 4, 2022 by MrFish

He/She clearly know's they are pushing it!! Blantant. It's a pity as they have a good collection of Atari items but aside the obvious high prices this makes me wanna stay well clear! Yes, but they have the word "LASER" written on them in capitol letters, which increases their value exponentially.
Mclaneinc
And so nice to know they were $1.99 back then..Lest we forget that they are SPECIAL COMPUTER TAPES...Made special since they are only 10mins long Not even much use on an Atari as many tape programs were well over a 10 min load.. Faicuai
Most of the above is peanuts compared to this... https://www.ebay.com/itm/125600416108?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=-lQf8-U4RRa&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY HURRY, it is on Christmas sale, as a $750 discount has been generously extended !! The above (original) title will ONLY run on the 800, as it detects and validates the presence of its dual floating-bus, during runtime. It will NOT run on a 800/Incognito, for instance. Keatah
They're not really expecting to get anywhere near that price. They don't know what to price it at. And if they do sell it they won the flunky lottery. It's fun to sit and watch the offers come in and then sell for whatever..

While I agree that doing that is an angle on getting a price offered, I can't imagine how many people were put off simply BY using that as a starter price. Had the price been a little nuts then I think people might have offered where 14.5K just screams greed and stupidity.
