Sensi Soccer. I found the updated version of this classic at SWOS United - SWOS 2020 (sensiblesoccer.de) and decided it was time to finally close this gap in my playing history. This is a very difficult game to adjust to in 2022, but I think I'm at least an average player now. I tested myself by winning a European cup tournament on XBox 360 (there was much screaming) and then started career mode on the Amiga version of Sensi 2020 with a 21/22 update. I'm in my 3rd year of a career where I managed to get a club from the Faroe Islands into the UEFA Champions League - wow. I think I may chuck that though and switch over to the PC version which has a lot of other updates you can take advantage of. Something else I did this week was finally figure out WHDLoad. I have been flipping disks in Amiga Emulation forever, so it was time to understand how WHDLoad works. I even wrote a little guide for it here: https://forums.atariage.com/topic/316204-is-there-a-site-like-csdbdk-for-amiga/?do=findComment&comment=5123049

+jgkspsx
Let's see... Arcade: Vanguard 2 - 20 minutes It's not Vanguard but it's pretty interesting. Bombing targets on the ground is a little too finicky, though. Atari 2600: Battlezone - 15 minutes Beamrider - 35 minutes Combat - 20 minutes Dodge 'Em - 20 minutes Atari Lynx: A Bug's Lynx - 20 minutes Paperboy - 25 minutes Raid on Tricity - 15 minutes GCE Vectrex: Handy Pick Hank - 25 minutes LCD / Tabletop: Meeba (Tiger Stix) - 15 minutes I'm sure there's something wrong with mine but I don't know what. My lifetime high score after many minutes is 6 Scramble (Coleco) - 20 minutes Much easier than the Epoch/Tandy version, at least on easy. Nintendo Entertainment System: B-Wings - 20 minutes Breakthru - 15 minutes Holy Diver - 30 minutes S.C.A.T. - 20 minutes Nintendo Game Boy: Borruga - 35 minutes A fun breakout/pinball game. Die and Retry - 20 minutes Certainly lives up to the name. Sega Genesis: Pac-Attack - 15 minutes Tiger R-Zone: Star Wars: Jedi Adventure - 20 minutes V.R. Technologies VT03 Famiclone: (featured in the MyArcade Pixel Player handheld - split out from Famicom as it has a whole layer of additional functionality for more 16 bit graphics) Octopus - 15 minutes Pinball Track - 10 minutes Spinball - 15 minutes

carlsson
Here's the summary for Week 37, running from September 12 - 18. We logged 3786 minutes of eligible play, playing 79 games on a total of 18 systems. Top 10: 1. Sensible World of Soccer 2020 (Amiga) - 1020 min. 2. Pokemon Yellow Version (Game Boy) - 389 min. 3. Solar Fox (Atari 2600) - 259 min. 4. Masters of the Universe: The Power of He-Man (Intellivision) - 249 min. 5. Survivor [Synapse Software] (Atari 8-bit) - 220 min. 6. Beamrider (Atari 2600) - 174 min. 7. Neo Turf Masters (Neo Geo AES/MVS) - 110 min. 8. GemHunter (TRS-80 Model I/III) - 70 min. 9. Kaboom! (Atari 2600) - 69 min. 10. Marinus (Atari 8-bit) - 65 min. All 10 games are new for this week! Pre-NES top 10: 1. Solar Fox (Atari 2600) - 259 min. 2. Masters of the Universe: The Power of He-Man (Intellivision) - 249 min. 3. Survivor [Synapse Software] (Atari 8-bit) - 220 min. 4. Beamrider (Atari 2600) - 174 min. 5. GemHunter (TRS-80 Model I/III) - 70 min. 6. Kaboom! (Atari 2600) - 69 min. 7. Marinus (Atari 8-bit) - 65 min. 8. Alpiner (TI-99/4A) - 60 min. (PN#7) 8. Slymoids (TI-99/4A) - 60 min. 10. Battlezone (Atari 2600) - 55 min. (PN#5) Top 10 systems: 1. Amiga - 1062 min. (#4) 2. Atari 2600 - 761 min. (#1) 3. Game Boy - 464 min. 4. Atari 8-bit - 370 min. (#8) 5. Intellivision - 249 min. (#2) 6. NES/Famicom - 140 min. 7. TI-99/4A - 120 min. (#6) 8. Neo Geo AES/MVS - 110 min. 9. TRS-80 Model I/III - 105 min. 10. Sega Saturn - 90 min. (#5) The 2020 update of Sensible World of Soccer enters straight into first place, and of course also the 1000 Minute Club as member #499. It is the third Amiga game to enter this club, and two out of three are football games! On the pre-NES list, Solar Fox is 10 minutes ahead of MotU: The Power of He-Man. On the systems list, quite as expected it is Amiga vs Atari 2600. Since Neo Turf Masters counts separately as Neo Geo, it means the overall arcade category is right outside the top list in 11th place. 3

carlsson
Atari 8-bit: Aerial - 6 min. Cacorm - 5 min. Centipede - 9 min. Handheld: Tomytronic 3D Thundering Turbo - 3 min. So yes, I forgot to play any more games in the previous A8 HSC round. Instead a new round begun this Sunday, featuring the 1982 version of Centipede and a round-up of recently released games. For those who are familiar with Inufuto and his 40 formats (sounds almost like a fairy tale), the other two titles should be known already. A couple years ago, I received a Tomytronic game as part of the Secret Santa exchange. I hadn't had reason to try it yet, so I loaded three AA cells to verify that it plays like it should. Perhaps a bit dim lighting, but good sound and it seems just like it should be.

digdugnate
Little bit of Classic time this week. As a mental side note, I need to pick up one of those Action Replay/4M carts for my Saturn. Sega Saturn: Fighters Megamix -- 120 minutes Street Fighter Zero -- 30 minutes TI-99/4a: Alpiner -- 60 minutes Squary (for HSC) -- 60 minutes I played enough Fighters Megamix to unlock the Hornet car from Daytona USA, lol. If I get the itch to I'll work on the weird stuff to unlock some of the others (like playing every day for 30 days, i think it is, one has an hour-count unlock). Also got a little TI time in to keep up my score for the High Score Competition.

Skippy B. Coyote
Not quite as busy of a week as I was hoping for gaming wise this past week. I was all set to start playing some modern games on the Xbox One as soon as I finished up the latest add-on for classic Doom on the Switch, but then the tendonitis in my left arm that had pretty much gone away since the summer started flared up again. It's pretty much impossible to hold a modern gaming controller when my tendonitis is acting up, but thankfully with the aid of a comfortable lap desk and my custom Atari 2600 arcade stick I could still play some older games; since luckily the muscle group in my arm that's all messed up seems to be unbothered by operating an arcade stick. Trying to grasp and operate a modern controller with analog sticks is definitely out of the question for awhile until my arm gets better, but there's plenty of fun Atari games to play for the High Score Club in the meantime Atari 2600 Beamrider - 18 minutes Crazy Balloon - 62 minutes Pengo - 25 minutes Venture Reloaded - 90 minutes Edited September 27, 2022 by Skippy B. I appreciate the attempt to answer it. No, this was a hopped up version of Neo Drift Out in a way that allowed you to configure everything on the car (wing, suspension, tires, etc.). However, now I have another game to try and take a look at sometime soon.
carlsson
Hm. There is Super Drift Out: World Rally Championships which was Japan exclusive, but it is a 2D game, not isometric. Also that game doesn't seem to have any shop mode, which makes it even less obvious what you actually played. I went through this (possibly incomplete) list on Wikipedia and tried to run the SFC exclusive games through image/video search but didn't find any better match. While it probably was not Super Drift Out that you played, I'm listing it as such for the time being and if you figure out what it was, I can correct it later.
