Intellivision Amico’s trademark changed to ‘abandoned’

Recommended Posts

Tommy will be down to just Color A Dinosaur before we know it. 😀

It's been apparent to me for some time that the vast majority of his credits are for things like arranging and producing other people's music, and he's very rarely credited as the sole composer of anything.

It will be funny if that one turns out to not be him too.

And people just trusted everything he said here. Sad.

They used that exact same patent language in their Fundable campaign a year prior. StartEngine required careful review of the ad by Intellivision representatives to attest that all details were factually accurate before publishing. Listing two "patents" that didn't exist for two different fundraising approaches feels like more than just a subtle oversight.

Fundable:

StartEngine:

I see no fine print on the Republic campaign, but the opening lines: "Over $25,000,000 in purchase and pre-orders. Over 100,000 units pre-sold to fans and retailers"

We know that wasn't true and it was deceptive to group them in that way, when only 5% of that figure could actually be considered pre-orders, and those pre-orders were less than half the actual purchase amount as $100 deposits so technically not even pre-orders.

No money would had been exchanged for any of their mentioned purchase orders or retail allocations. We also know Intellivision sent a press release out to media claiming 10,000 pre-orders when that was nearly twice the actual figure noted in SEC filings. To anaswer your question, we do not know how many purchase orders and allocation requests they received because the only source for those figures is Tommy himself and his remarks have been well established as embellishment.

Well I thought maybe some more inside information got leaked, I guess not.  There should be more than one person there that knows about their retail/distributor purchase orders.

The $25 million represents the value of purchase orders, it's the 100 thousand times $250.  Investors know that major retailers have payment terms on purchase orders, nothing paid in advance, terms very much in the retailers favour.  Of course their revenue on 100k units would be less than $25M because retailers are paying wholesale.  The fine print was the risk disclosure document shared on the Startengine page.  Still, retailer purchase orders is very significant to investors.  So the validity of that number is very important.

Don't know about a press release but early on, a videogame website article did mention ten thousand preorders.  Later, they talked about 6000 direct preorders.  Add preorders customers placed through retailers, e.g. Gamestop, Amazon, Best Buy, etc, it could easily have been more than ten thousand.  But that would have been much later so that early article was not right.

The Fundable Amico page mentions patents twice.  One says its pending the other doesn't.  Getting patents approved can take a while so patents pending is not unexpected.  It's of course wrong to say otherwise.

Wait, THAT’S the video you’ve been referencing? The insane “unboxing” video that has been proven to be a scammy piece of garbage? The one that, after watching, links to “Amico Unboxing Deception?” You’ve got to be joking.

There is like 20 seconds of Cornhole footage there which never shows anyone actually setting up a shot, even though John says “We’re going to show you how it works” in that same video- right before in fact. Yes that footage is faked! Why is his controller off when he throws the bag? Why doesn’t he actually show what he literally just says he would? Because he’s a lying scumbag.

To use that video of proof of anything is like using fan fiction to argue about Star Trek.

Yeah, only that one screen shot showing the Amico Cornhole instructions is all that was needed to show that the throw settings are optional.  The discussion wasn't about anything else, it wasn't about faked gameplay.  It was to show that the throw settings are optional.  According to the instructions, setting up a shot is not necessary, just press a button and throw.  They do show a player adjusting aim using the touchpad.  What makes you think the controller is off, are you sure you're not looking at the bottom of the controller.

WAIT!!!! I thought YOU knew all about the retail/distribution purchase orders?  You certainly speak as if you are a representative of the "company"!!!  Dude at this point, you seem like an AI bot that just responds to people, while basically regurgitating things over and over from the last few years the Amico was "a thing"......at least it is entertaining somewhat to watch you shill unmercifully for TT and the Amico.

It is pretty obvious the only "sold consoles" are the 6000 preorders they have and refuse to refund.

If they had $25 million actually sold to people/distributors they would manufacture the console.

Technically those 6000 orders aren't guaranteed either. At this point a reasonable person would tell them to kick rocks if they asked for the addition $200 for the console. This would lead to more refunds even. They would also not make any money off those $6000 because their idiot CEO at the time kneecapped them with that Sudesh loan.

I think when someone comes forward you will find that is why they lost their line of credit and that money to Ark. They were never able to show the numbers needed for the contract they had. So Ark told them to kick rocks and thanks for the $1million.

If you go back and watch Tommy back towards the end of 2019 and 2020 you will see the desperation. Word on the street is that the CUPodcast is going over the 50 minute video of Tommy playing the victim, and practically begging Pat to do an interview. So I think they will do a good run down of Tommy's video and give it the context that it needed.

There is a reason Tommy wanted my threads shut down and to silence anyone with simple reason. We were all saying the same things that the investor who pulled out said. Tommy needed a big channel to market for him. The money was gone, the console unfinished, and games incomplete. He would crap himself over rational talk here, because he needed AA to be a place he could show potential investors. He needed to say look at all these retro gamers who are smart about the industry. They love what I'm doing. I mean he wanted me banned from AA and PMd people here to attack me. Just think about that for a second. I'm a random forum poster with no reach, but he was that desperate from any rational discussion.

People love to regurgitate what Tommy said to them because that's how Tommy fed them. He regurgitated his BS down their throats and they imprinted on him like the baby birds they were. Feed me more Tommy! Feed me more Intellivision! Look at me daddy bird senpai!

DON'T CRITICIZE INTELLIVISION! I LOVE THEM AND I DON'T CARE WHO THEY ATTACK AND I'M OKAY WITH IT IF IT GETS ME MY SWEET AMICO. Beep boop.

Let us be honest. We are all just waiting to see when the FCC stops being the haters they are and post those FCC certs that we have been reassured they have.

Those haters need to update their site. AN EMPLOYEE SAID THEY HAD THEM!!!1!!11!

They also promised 100% completely refundable at anytime preorders. So it isn't like they've been less than honest.

Worse than that is saying they said something they didn't even say.

Like when Tommy amused himself for over a year here telling you and others straight up lies to keep your interest on the Amico.

Tommy telling the truth,  Wouldn't that be something!

I've never had any interest in the system.

I'd rather be the guy who was right amd can laugh at a situation than a sad sack who continues to defend a company who lied and took money based on those lies.

Sad people think that Tommy was their friend. I still have my dignity which is more than I can say for those who have continued to defend Tommy and his UPS shell company.

Self awareness is a thing.

BUT

Speaking of amusing. I just took my family to see the Super Mario Movie. We loved it. Jr. Beefy really liked Bowser. Don't worry there wasn't any porn in it for those who love the Tommy regurgitation.

For those who want some Amico positivity to amuse themselves check out this stream tonight.

Perhaps not buying one, but you were interested in the progress and kinda enabled the "TomFoolery" by constantly giving Tommy and the team the benefit of the doubt even when obvious red flags were front and center.  Why give a team with no track record of releasing a console the benefit of a doubt, especially after so many lies and other questionable behavior?

Like what does someone have to do before you say "Yeah screw this, these people have no idea what they are doing and are being completely dishonest to the community"?

Semi random Amico question

-----------------------------------

How many Amicos worth of parts do you think exist? We've heard claims that Amicos were being hand-assembled by someone.  If that's true: do you think that they have enough for 10, 100..1000?

I imagine that many of the individual components (resistors, capacitors, ICs) could be sold to a parts dealer.  If they have hundreds of main boards, those would presumably be e-waste...unless collectors want them as curiosities.

Meanwhile, Atari continues to release new games.  They aren't exactly locking horns with Nintendo but they're putting stuff out there.

Found this OOF from 1977. Its in Smokey and the Bandit movie.

Sounds similar to the Roblox one.

Bouford T. Justice has a pretty awesome musical theme.  It's sort of like LeChuck's theme from Monkey Island.

I wonder if Tommy T. wrote both of them.

This company failed to get their product to market.  That's the fact, no need to say much else about that.  Of course there were red flags, and I did comment on some of them.

The whole thing on Atariage was a sideshow.  It didn't enable anything, it had little to do with the success or failure of the company.  The average  Republic investor wasn't reading Atariage.  Purchasers at retailers aren't reading Atariage.

I am guessing they might've had 10-20 pcbs made, and some test runs of plastics- maybe 20-50 of each part.  Supposedly, ark electronics bought $1M+ worth of parts, but we don't know if the purchase went through, or if that was essentially escrow money.  "hand assembly" here means putting a pcb into a plastic box and putting the other pieces together, which should take maybe 30-60 minutes per unit at the most (that assembly video tommy posted shows basically what they have to do).  No one is soldering resistors and capacitors to circuit boards at intellivision, especially since this had some high density BGA on there.  You're not soldering anything like that by hand.

They most likely bought stuff from digikey and mouser or similar and used those to do a very small run of prototype boards.  There's zero chance they made more than a few dozen at the most-  there's no reason, need, and the costs would've been prohibitive.

I would be extremely surprised if they ever had actual electronics parts in house at any point; and if they did it was prototype quantities they were sending to a fab to assemble the boards for them.  There are plenty of "turn key" pcb places that you send your BOM (bill of materials) and PCB files to, and they give you back finished, assembled boards.  They probably would have to supply a few things, like the SOCs, since those probably aren't available on the open market.

Sure, but I still think its in bad form when any size group of a very passionate crowd try to defend/downplay questionable behavior from a person/company just because they like that person or the product they are involved with.

I just think too many people lost sight of what was actually going on because someone with a bit a charm and notoriety in the gaming industry made them feel special for engaging with them.

I consider myself a Playstation guy, but I'll be the first one to call Sony out on their BS when they make decisions I don't agree with.  It's a good thing holding companies accountable for their actions.
