+-^CrossBow^-
You only get the four pages for channels on the Wii's main channel listings. If you actually fill all the channel slots (As I've nearly done), then you have to invest in an SD mem card to save the channels to. By doing this you can then delete channels you know longer use or don't use thought often. In the case of the VC games, I more or less have them sorted by platform in that the second page has the NES,SNES and N64 games, 3rd page has Genesis and TG16 games on it. But this isn't that realistic either since I do have some games that have managed to spill over to the fourth page already. As I stated if you start to fill up the channel slots backup (Save) those you don't play as much and then delete them from the Wii to make room for them. When you want them back just backup more and delete more to reload them back to the Wii channel lists. PITA for sure, but that appears to be about the only thing one can do. However, in the case of the VC games, most of them are fairly small so you could just delete them and then redownload them later when you got the urge to play them again. The VC games are tied to your Wii console uniquely so as long as you don't change out Wii's you should be able to download and delete any channel item you've bought freely. Flojomojo
Excellent! Wave Race! WII-KLY UPDATE: THREE NEW CLASSIC GAMES ANNOUNCED FOR WII SHOP CHANNEL Aug. 6, 2007 What makes a game truly classic? Is it unforgettable graphics or timeless characters? Is it crisp realism or mesmerizing fantasy realms? The answer, of course, is all of the above, and this week's additions to the Wii Shop Channel cover the whole gamut. From wild water sports to heroic puzzling to intergalactic space battles, these newly available titles are proven favorites you'll learn to love all over again on your Wii™. Today Nintendo adds three new classic games to the popular Wii video game system's Wii Shop Channel. The games go live at 9 a.m. Pacific time. Nintendo adds new games to the channel every Monday. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points™ to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week's new games are: Wave Race® 64 (Nintendo® 64, 1-2 players, rated E for Everyone, 1,000 Wii Points): Take to the waves on your own personal watercraft and experience some of the best water effects in video game history. Choose one of four characters, each with his/her own unique abilities and style, and master the game's excellent controls. Make your way through nine courses, each with its own challenges. If the ramps, mines and hairpin turns aren't enough, you'll also have to deal with varying weather conditions that can make the water choppy or cover the course with fog. And if you ever feel like taking a break from racing, then try out Stunt Mode to polish your skills by pulling off handstands, rolls and more. Get good enough and you might even be able to ride a dolphin-just don't get seasick. ADVENTURES OF LOLO™ (NES®, 1 player, rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): This was the first game in the Eggerland puzzle series to be released in North America. After the love of his life, Lala, is kidnapped by the Great Devil and taken to a haunted castle, our hero Lolo sets out to rescue her. The journey is perilous because the Great Devil's fortress is guarded by a massive army. But Lolo has a few tricks up his sleeve, including a Magic Shot that turns enemies into eggs and an Emerald Framer that shields him from attacks. Combining clever environmental puzzles with tricky enemies and an engaging style, ADVENTURES OF LOLO is a true classic. GALAGA™ '90 (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, rated E for Everyone, 600 Wii Points): This is an updated version of the classic arcade shooter Galaga. Set in the vast reaches of space, you will fight your way through all 29 rounds to reach the enemies' stronghold on Planet Galaga. Game levels consist of a few rounds with changing enemies and backgrounds. To top it off, the nostalgic "Galactic Dancing" lives on to mark the end of each level. With the new addition of dimensions, you can choose your attack route. Collect capsules and open dimension warps at branch sections to take on even tougher enemies. GALAGA '90's inclusion of the triple fighter, scrolling backgrounds, boss Galaga and even new system effects make it nothing less than a masterpiece. n8littlefield
LOLO!!! Woo hoo!! I always wanted a copy of it. I guess I'll have to dump another $20 into the VC soon.
8th lutz
It is a good week. Wave race 64 might might the last n64 game on the vc for a couple months. There is no n64 game being released in Japan this month. Japan usually gets a n64 game on the vc a month before North America does.

+-^CrossBow^-
VC List updated for Aug. 13, 2007. An absolute NES classic long LONG overdue is finally here. Metroid has finally hit the VC lineup! Also another sometimes obscure RPG in the Shining family for the Genesis is Shining in the Darkness. While I haven't played this one myself, I hear it is an excellent game. Funny I actually own this game CIB but never played it yet? Finally we have more TG-16 love added to the VC with Cratermaze. Have fun! And from what we know...Expect Super Metroid to hit the SNES VC listings next week!
Gabriel
Shining in the Darkness is old school dungeon delving, as in Wizardry 1/2/3 old style dungeon delving. Don't download it unless you have some graph paper on hand.

kisrael
Does anyone still have problems connecting with the Virtual Store? I remember having some problems, but not lately, at least until Sunday evening... then I tried to do an update and that failed... it seemed like it made the connection to know there was an update, but then couldn't actually grab it... +-^CrossBow^-
Did you actually see the updating message screen and then it falied during that screen? If so...I would unplug the Wii wait a few and plug it back in to see. If still no go, then I would give Nintendo a call. It is possible for the Wii to get bricked from a failed update upload. Few cases here and there. I've been fortunate enough to not have it happen to me. Also, there was another update last night sent out to correct some lockup issues when leaving the Wii Store and going back to the Wii Menu as well as lockup issues that were apparently still present with the Opera browser? It was a very quick update compared to the last one which took a minute or two but interesting none the less. Damn thing's blue light woke me up at like 12:30am...ugh... I haven't tested Wii Store connectivity since last nights update. Suppose I should make sure now...
Flojomojo
I couldn't get into the Wii Store after that first update, but it could have been Metroid fans clogging the pipes as well -- tried to watch the videos at a friend's house on Saturday but it was stuttering and freezing. The error code was quite generic, but I'm happy to say that it resolved itself. I suspect a server problem. I applied the small patch early this morning without problems, and the store is snappy and responsive now.

+-^CrossBow^-
I just checked the Wii shop channel out. Seemed to connect just fine as always for me. I then looked at the article they have posted from the main title screen regarding the "Month of Metroid". When I exited out from this...that is when a funky error code came up and then reset me back to the Wii menu. I clicked on the shop channel again and it again came right up and seems to be fine now. Probably just a glitch in the matrix...err...network. I have noticed that the lag when switching back to the main Wii menu does seem to be gone thankfully. Flojomojo
No advance announcements this week -- I wonder if something big is coming, like a new platform, maybe? I guess we'll find out soon!
+-^CrossBow^-
Yeah...looks like Nintendo hasn't updated their press release site yet. And my Wii likely won't show me whats been added for another hour or so. I'll update when I find out.
Atariboy
Nothing exciting Super C (NES) Breath of Fire II (SNES) Ghouls 'n Ghosts (Genesis)
+-^CrossBow^-
After checking my Wii just a moment ago...the VC list has been updated for Aug. 27, 2007. Breath of Fire II is a steal at the 800 points required for it. Locally that game fetches $20 loose period. Super C for 500 is also a steal as that game loose commands anywhere from $20 - $30 here locally as well. I do admit that I'm surprised that they put Genesis Ghouls 'n Ghosts up there since Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts was already released. Still...it shows that Nintendo isn't completely partial to just their releases... Maybe we will still see Contra Hardcore released for the VC someday ehh? Flojomojo
Bonk 3: Bonk's Big Adventure tomorrow for 600 points. I think this one is pretty rare in cartridge form, and I'm looking forward to playing it. Looks like Japan gets Sin + Punishment as well as Neo Geo games ... won't be long for us, I hope! Flojomojo
This week Nintendo throws four new games for the virtual console at us, what are they? Well, the new games are Adventure Island for the Nintendo, Donkey Kong Jr. Math for the Nintendo, Landstalker: The Treasures of King Nole for the Sega, and Bonk 3: Bonk’s Big Adventure for the TurboGrafx-16. +-^CrossBow^-
VC List updated for Sep. 3, 2007. Once again.....Flojo has already posted the games up above.... VC games total now stands at 140 even?! That seems like a bunch to me. Also Bonk 3 is a Steal at the 600 point price they are asking. In addition Landstalker is a very good Zeldaesque action RPG. Long adventure to be had by that one with lots of strange critters to encounter. Lots of jumping platform type levels which, can be frustrating given the fixed isometric perspective of the game. But still lots of fun overall.
