+ZeroPage Homebrew
3 hours ago, vitoco said: Why did you cover "Atari" but not "newest"? 🤔 BTW, did Atari release/licenced any tabletop? Very true, I assumed none of them would be from Atari! Looking through the list of properties, there have been a few Atari arcade games converted to tabletop, even one we'll be playing: Asteroids! - James
Thomas Jentzsch
@ZeroPage Homebrew Why do you not use rechargeable batteries for the table tops? I have tried to use the below pictured AA to C adapters but they didn't quite fit in. So like Nathan Strum said, there seems to be a size difference between rechargable and non that makes them just a touch too big for the tabletop games. 7 hours ago, Thomas Jentzsch said: BTW: There is also a version of Super Cobra with more colors: Oooh, that is nice! An IEC standard specifies the size of the individual battery types. And all manufacturers worldwide adhere to it. And I doubt the spacers are bound to the standard. If there is a problem, then because the slots are too small. Maybe because the devices are old and were produced before the standard.
+SpiceWare
Eliminating that AA to C adapter might help, I use these Amazon Basics Rechargeable C cells in the Galaxian tabletop that @keilbaca gave me back in 2006. Looks like Amazon's changed the label design since I bought them.

+ZeroPage Homebrew
50 minutes ago, SpiceWare said: Looks like AA is 0.5 mm taller than C That makes sense now why they don't fit in the tabletop games. The adapters from AA -> C don't add any length, they just replicate the width so they don't shift around. That's too bad there's such a small difference in height. I've noticed the adapters work with devices that have a little more room in the battery compartment so they may work in some tabletops, just not the ones I've tried. Thanks for the info Darrell! - James

I had Defender and Donkey Kong BITD. I don't have any today, but I do have Asteroids and Missile Command (my two favorite coin-ops) from New Wave Toys. I turn them on keep the lights off in my Atari room, while I test/play games. Hearing them running in the background, helps create that game-room vibe.
+Nathan Strum
I have most of the Tiny Arcade series from Super Impulse. It looks like they're no longer selling most of the titles now... When they're all switched on and running in demo mode it's quite the arcade-like cacophony! Unfortunately, they only stay on about a minute or so to preserve batteries. Super Impulse also makes a Tiny Atari 2600 (which I also have), so they've licensed some Atari games too. Sadly, they haven't made any Tiny Atari arcade cabinets. I'd love to see a series of those. All of my Tiny Arcade games are in storage now. I suppose I should unpack them and dig the batteries out of them before they all corrode. (I may have done that before packing them... hope so.) For portables, I have my original Entex Space "Invader" (apparently, they could only afford one), Sears (Coleco) Electronic Touchdown, and a Mattel Auto Race that I bought a few (okay... 13 ) years ago on eBay, that I blogged about here. Never did write "part 2". LEDs seemed like magic back then.
