I'm literally installing a Channel F, an Intellivision 2, and a pong machine into my upgraded entertainment center, which is right aimed squarely at my king size bed... because life is good. I'm just trying to finish this up before I dig into my Secret Santa box tonight. Also because I want to clean everything up before tomorrow when my kids arrive and their friends who all want to play N64 Mario Party Christmas afternoon. Also because life is good. Between the wife and I the Holiday Spicettes didn't survive the unboxing. 🤣 Steam is definitely something fun this year especially since I got a Steam Deck a few months back. OMG thank you. I was actually eyeballing a clock just like this a few months ago. Star Trek, in my house, is just awesome (to me anyway)! About halfway through my helper decided he had to have the box "omgrightnowcanyouemptytheboxtakingforever". He's annoying but kinda cute. And he got the box... And somehow, somehow, Cappy B managed to sneak in a surprise as well! 🤣 I was so sad to not find any tofu but I got over it real quick. Thank you both. I love this tradition and I seriously look forward to this every year. You all are amazing. We had no cellphone service either, since the storm destroyed the cell towers in the area.The power was restored about 11am today. Sleeping in minus 11 degree weather wasn’t fun either. +cvga Posted December 25, 2022 Share Posted December 25, 2022 Our presents are purchased, wrapped and waiting for Christmas morning so it was time to open my AA Secret Santa package. My Santa was much more generous than I deserved. The package was heavy and neatly tucked into the box filling every available space! I eagerly removed the items; 6 individually wrapped gifts, a gift bag, a t-shirt and a letter! I started with the letter (of course) and could tell that Santa had done some homework. Santa praised me for being a good boy and raising the children with classic games (he's right you know)! I also discovered that he's sending another game directly to me from the Atari Age store. He really really really didn't have to do that!! The bag was truly filled with JOY as it was filled with my favorite treats... and one of the gifts was a delicious looking box of chocolates from Ashers! The two smaller gifts were Sega Genesis games. Bubsy and Rampart. I didn't give Santa much to go on other than I have a Genesis but it's one system I don't have many games for so I was hoping Santa might include one of his favorites. I don't have either of these and am excited to play them!! Next I opened a game that was on my NES want list....Paperboy Thank you Santa! A great game. I remember playing the arcade version with the handle bars as a kid and the NES version that a friend had. Tons of fun and I'm excited to have one I can play at home. I am super stoked to play this one and show to the kids! Santa still wasn't finished. The next present was a miniature Galaga arcade game. Beyond super cool. Galaga is my all-time favorite arcade game. I have the "world's smallest" version but not the My Arcade. This will go perfectly the Pacman that someone at work gave to me (that they received in a white elephant gift exchange). Santa likely wanted to make sure that we weren't spending too much time on video games (if that's possible) so he included two card games. Kids Against Maturity and Taco vs Burrito. My daughter was super-interested and I'm proud to report that we've already opened both and played them. Kids Against Maturity had us laughing so hard I literally had to wipe tears away as we were reading the "answers" to various questions. The only negative about it is that my daughter keeps asking if we can play it again over and over. Taco vs Burrito started a little slower but got pretty hot once we got mean and started playing negative and other non-food cards. I've never added mustache hair to a burrito before but hey, three points is three points Santa, thank you so much!!! You knocked every single item out of the park and I absolutely loved the combination of what you chose for my package. I love every single item and really appreciated the letter that accompanied it. Hazelnuts and chocolate are just the best. I'd eat these every week if I could, he thinks as he eats one. Brabo Toys!!! These things are super rare over here. I love 'em like Kinder Eggs. Really cool! Okay... but WHAT is that white box? I IIIIIIIITTTTTSSS a one-of-a-kind THING!!!! Okay, this is super rad. My Santa made a me a custom cart that he programed. I'm gonna cry. And yes, it's dang cool as ice cream. These all work! Wow! I love that I've got a really good reason to represent the Intellivision in my little setup. Kinda amazing I just got the thing "installed" earlier today. My best friend had an Intellivision 2, just like the one I have now (I traded my Nokia N-Gage for it a few years ago, still totally happy I did that). I have a soft spot in my heart for this system, since my best friend and I still know each other and I consider him my best friend still. This is SOOO cool to have something basically hand-made that's Christmas and fun and... wow. This is amazing. So I gotta try another game too... Okay, here's my new favorite version of BLITZ! I'm actually really glad this is on here. I remember seeing this game for REALLY obscure systems (the Jupiter ACE -hats off if you've even heard of that), and playing around with it in MESS or other emulators that dealt with oddballs like that. The Oric I think had this. I figured whenever I found an iteration of Blitz, I'd give it a solid whirl. Unlike, say, Snake... I never saw it for anything mainstream. Or even slightly mainstream... I've never seen this for Apple II or NES or even the 2600. Well, here it is for the Intellivision. I just scored 849. I think that was level 5? Santa has truly been here tonight in my life. It's been a hard year for me. Thank you Santa. I appreciate you. The people in my world will have fun tomorrow, and your efforts and effects will be in my mind the whole time. First off, BAHAHAHAHAHAHA GOOD N PLENTY! I know it wasn't Krampus though, because Krampus never apologizes! (I only had to open it a bit and see that disgusting purple FILTH packaging to become top scared to fully remove it.) All of the Pac Man stuff is spot on and I was planning on getting all of it next, just hadn't gotten around to it. (In fact, that very same Pac-Man light is in a digital shopping cart right now, just hadn't clocked Buy!) AMAZING! The Game & Watch features Mild Cartoon Violence, my favorite kind! Not pictured in the rush and size limit for uploads are some badass little Nerf guns to shoot things for the cats/dog to chase, some delicious Black Forest gummies, a hilarious pair of socks, and a SNES style USB controller which I actually needed for my MiSTer - Santa has telepathy! My FAVORITE, the PIECE DE RESISTANCE, is that little cowboy monkey. Just this week I cleaned off a shelf in the office and he's DEFINITELY going there for all the world to see. I can't thank you enough @ClassicGMR, this was DA BEST! She immediately tore off to snatch the darts and start chomping on them! Looks like a total winner and I'll probably have to buy new darts soon EDIT: wife got a video. Cat has already carted one of the darts off. The dog is also ridiculously interested and it shoots far enough he might be able to chase em! I always have to tell myself I'm not a kid anymore and I can't expect things to be tucked away in ca- OH! Nevermind. 😁 The present spread! 'Handmade' definitely caught my attention as I've been doing a lot more crafting this year. Now, the opening! Firstly the candies. Sonic is an excellent choice, I grew up with him! Trick is, one of my best friends is the BIGGEST Sega/Sonic junkie I've ever met... so if she doesn't have one, he might just go speeding off with her! 🤣 And it appears gummi burgers might become a tradition for me! That Sabaton patch is VERY cool! Coat of Arms is one the the CDs we just picked up, so the timing is amazing! And now I have a way to tell people 'yes, I have a Virtual Boy', without hauling the blockbuster rental case around! Burgertime! I'm pretty sure this is the last Burgertime game I have means to play, but didn't own, save one. So I guess now I have to save up for a very expensive vintage handheld 😅 I LOVE the handmade perler Klonoa! Also apparently my tree will be taken over by EVIL! Klonoa can't help- my tree is quite tiny & won't handle an ornament that size... plus I'd rather he be out year round anyway! I think I stashed a Mario at my parent's last year... could Mario beat Eggman? I've not played the Olympic series, I've no idea! Thank you so much, Santa! I love ALL of it! That is a really cool Retro Gamer Magazine, I'll have a good time reading through that. I am not familiar with Final Faction but I now have Issue number 1 of the comic and a figures to display. Some more reading for me and it seems really cool. It looks like some subject material that I'll be into though, good pick! I haven't played NARC since probably 1987. I was at my friend Anthony's house and we would play NES all the time. He always had the latest games and they were super cool. I look forward to reliving some happy memories. The Mappy Arcade is cool. Another game I have never played and look forward to trying. I love the card, so funny!🤣 And the Crash shirt fills a notch in my wardrobe that I've needed to expand.
