FYI -

... in eBay some bidders cannot bid somehow, something in eBay related to "international shipping", but also with package sizes.

eBay cannot calculate the costs to the countries  (I entered some higher values), but later on we need to check the real shipment

price (at the shipper from Thailand) to the country it need to be shipped to.

* For some bids, I am revising the shipment part configuration to see if that solves for international bidders.

   (I never had this issue 4 years ago when selling a lot of TI-99/4A products from The Netherlands, it is the same account I use).

For all items in the DESCRIPTION field I added this.

NOTE:
**********
Additional International Shipment fees applies from Thailand to the country to be shipped to
**********

Mike always has a bunch of HexBus stuff available. He's sold quite a few CC-40s and various peripherals/cartridges over the years. I bought a bag of interesting cartridges from him a few months ago. . .that I still need to test to see exactly what they are.

It takes more time and effort to sent from Thailand then all the shipments a few years back I did from The Netherlands (that was easy).

(Normal Thai Post does not ship electronic equipment last time, but I need to double check).

Today I spent 2+ hours at DHL to send some packages and first of all I hope they all arrive all in good condition at the buyers.

(and Ebay .... is still holding my payments until it has been delivered).

Besides the ebay transaction costs and additional taxations on top of it,

I need to adjust the shipment fees in the ebay system (once I have time in the weekend)

(it is a weird system in the bidding it takes domestic shipment instead of international shipment)

To be transparent here are the rates from Thailand

* USA is Zone 3

* Europe is Zone 3

* Then it depends on the package size

* and depends on the weight

   (the max. I can ship is 30Kg,  I believe the complete PEB + Geneve 9640 is around that, otherwise I need to ship in different boxes)

Curiosity -- a protoboard, dual RS232 with two 9902s. Nice project box. Chopped off ribbon cable. No other hint of how it interfaced. Has a TI decal but that could be from anyone.

I just happened to browse Ebay and was amazed at the sheer number of consoles for sale. It shouldn't be too long before we're able to pick up one for just a few bucks :lol: It seems to me the nostalgia factor is starting to wear off for a lot of folks...

Would be nice, but perhaps not until the collector bubble of "realizing" you have a gold mine in your grandparents' attic.  Shipping is going to kill people, though.

I recently bought a working console for $0.99.  $39.82 shipping made it less of a good deal.😠

Mulling the sellers 25% off offer. Waste of time but... curiosity!

Maybe the ribbon cable soldered directly onto their RS232 card? Maybe it was attached to the PIO port, requiring unique software to drive it? There's no EPROM, it can't be standalone RS232.

I went through this exact thought process!  Also concluded it's a waste of time.  But somehow still tempting.  Who but ourselves could rescue it and bring it back to life?  (I bet the ribbon went to the RS232 card one way or another, and it was just quickly snipped off for storage long ago)

Here's a really good auction for Pyuuta fans. It includes a Pyuuta Jr, a couple of cartridges, and the real prize: the unbelievably rare cassette interface for the Pyuuta Jr. I know of about half a dozen of these in the wild. They only show up for sale once every 3-5 years. . .

I already have one, but this might be a good fit for one of the other Tomy Pyuuta fans out there.

Saw this on Ebay. Is this a sanctioned TIPI product? Has anyone used it?

I am interested in having a portable TIPI option aside from my standard TIPI-PEB.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/115936409313

It appears to be a valid tipi/32k option. Someone has probably taken the Gerber and created some to sell. Someone by the first name of Mike. He points to a fork of Jedimatts TIPI. I may consider purchasing one too.

The J-Data TIPI variant has been available here on AtariAge off and on for quite a while. There are a couple of threads about it here with his development process based on user input. At least one of the 3D-printed speech-synthesizer cases was designed for this board. He made them to order for folks here and I think @arcadeshopper has even had them in his web store.
