carlsson
Arcade: Ghosts 'n Goblins - 10 min. At least I played something, a quick round of testing joystick and buttons on our club's arcade cab. Just like I had analyzed before, both are horrible and in dire need to be exchanged some time in the future. I did intend to play some games from the Atari 8-bit HSC too, but never got to it.
Kurt_Woloch
Here are my times for this past week, November 21st through 27th, on classic systems... Sega Master System: Teddy boy - 11 min. Word Grand Prix - 5 min. This week I only did two short sessions on Sega Master System games. On "World Grand Prix" I drew a quick track on the track editor and tried it out. Then I saw a video about SMS card games, and Teddy Boy seemed like a fun game to try. I didn't get far in it though. Other than that, my father has consumed much of my time this week... he fell twice this week and needs more and more care. He's 87 now, and yesterday he called me at 1:30 a.m. and said he'd go swimming, if I'd like to go along. I wouldn't go, but he went anyway and then was found in the morning in a pool of blood. Now he's in a hospital and has had a cerebral hemorrhage. He'll need to spend some more days there, and some say he'll be sent straight to a nursing home rather than back home afterwards. I'll have a meeting with my cousin and two of his sisters tomorrow to decide how to proceed... if he does get home, he'll have somebody coming to look after him three times a day. Strangely, yesterday, before he called me, I had some kind of premonition... in a dream, a child told me something or gave me something that had something to do with my father, and then a song came on in my mind, which I found to be this one: Since this is called "Ticket to heaven", I think someone up there decided it's time for my father to go. That process will still take a while, but he's got his ticket to heaven now, and eventually he will arrive there. We'll see how things turn out... 3
BurritoBeans
MSX1: Hydlide 3 - 192 minutes I found some time to both play games and exist on here, woohoo. Been working on this Pioneer PX-V7, making it less unreliable by adding better cooling/removing the old transformer and also trying to emulate a LD-700 using a Raspberry Pi, a GPIO pin, and LIRC. Would be pretty cool to have a LaserDisc "emulator" for real hardware 'cause the real players are pretty much undocumented, the real discs are both expensive/from an era of heavy rot, and PiLD never actually got a public release. Yeah you can just emulate everying on openmsx but eh, I wanna make the hardware do work and hear all the relays clacking. Hydlide 3 is a game I've played way too many times at this point. It's also still one of I think five MSX games I own. I just find it fun, I dunno why. The old built-in English translation is pretty funny for just how bad it is. I got to the temple that rises out of the one lake and had to quit but I hope over the next week or two to finish the game up.
+thegoldenband
Made sone time to play games for the first time in a month: SNES: Lagoon - 90 min. Star Fox - 163 min. Beat Courses One and Two -- basically, Easy and Normal -- in Star Fox. I've definitely finished One before, not sure about Two, and now Three awaits.

TheGameCollector
This week I played: Pokemon Gold Version for Game Boy Color - 1,095 minutes Super Mario Bros. 3+ (Hack) for NES - 32 minutes Progress: Pokemon Gold - I beat the Pokemon League and got all the badges then started trying to collect as many Pokemon as I could. So far my Pokedex is at 85 caught. Super Mario Bros. 3+ - This hack just came out on Thanksgiving so I tried it out just to see how it works. I'm not sure that the changes are enough to excite me to seriously play through the whole thing.

carlsson
Ideally everyone would post a summary once a week, but as long as you don't edit your previous posts with incremental times, I'm fine with multiple posts. I tend to enter the early ones individually into Excel, and the big batch on Monday - Tuesday, I paste into Emacs first to sort everything by system, combine duplicates etc and then enter it all into the spreadsheet. In that way, multiple posts would end up in the same session. 3

Yes, I was doing that. However, considering that convenience wise I determined it was best to fire out my daily total's so I wouldn't forget I went with that route. Definitely I am not trying to bust anyone's huevos. I just wanted to participate in a way that was best and optimal for me. 15 hours ago, carlsson said: Ideally everyone would post a summary once a week, but as long as you don't edit your previous posts with incremental times, I'm fine with multiple posts. I just found that it was best for me to participate doing my daily totals so I wouldn't forget what I had done through the week as I tend to bounce around, as many can see. However, just let me know. I appreciate all that you do!
carlsson
If your current method works best for you, stick with it. As I wrote, I'm having bigger issues with AtariAge subscribers (*) who have an edit period of one month and sometimes that has been utilised to post times and update the post a few times through the week. (*) I'm not having issues in general with AtariAge subscriptions, just this small detail. 4
Steven Pendleton
A rare visit from the SuperGrafx, and Slap Fight is finally back after almost a month of absence, although I'm rather surprised that I went that long without playing it. Der Schränker I - 5 min. Der Schränker II - 7 min. Dye Heritage Editon - 39 min. Pac-Men Evolution - 10 min. Retro Dschump - 10 min. Trax - 5 min. Yup, I'm back in the HSC game. This time around, we're playing the games from the ABBUC 2022 contest. I skipped a few games that crashed or I was not interested in playing, but generally they're OK. Perhaps what strikes me as most amazing is the prize money in this contest, a total of over 2800 Euros shared on the entries! Very few other retro gaming contests can sport that kind of money with over 600 Euros for the #1 (Bunny Hop).
