Morning: track down obscure coolant leak on the Jeep; determine that it'll require a lift to repair.

      Afternoon into evening: Rum
      1. GoldLeader

I'm right there with ya...I'm drinking an Extremely Sour Ale...Well,  it's a Cherry Gose (W/Cherry juice, Orange, Coriander, Himalayan salt and peppercorn)...Why did I buy a 6 pack of this stuff?  So, (heh) I added a bit of iced tea and some actual 100% tart cherry juice,  Still too ridiculous!  Now, I'm adding rum to this!  (You've inspired me)...I thought about buying some other beer to mix it with, or drink instead haha...But I don't want to drive too far away.  (It's 11:46PM as I type this and some liquor stores nearby are closed),...And I don't want to waste my Baltic Porters trying to make this stuff semi-drinkable (Maybe I'd mix, like a Hamm's or Rainier in an attempt to smooth it out a bit)...ERRRRF!  Why'd I buy this?
          It's Awful!

Umm..Anyways,...Sorry about the Mighty Jeep!  I hope you get it tracked down.  (If it makes ya feel any better...Pretty sure my Neon's leaking something too,  but figuring it out,  Hell even charging the battery,  is way down the list...)

    • The party took the Landale to the Air Castle, and worked their way through it, picking up every treasure along the way.  They fought the three Eclipse Torch thieves, Xe-a-thoul.  I have no idea if each one of the three is a Xe-a-thoul, or if combined they are a Xe-a-thoul.  Either way, I hit them with the best attacks I had, and they annihilated the party.  Their first attack did not kill anybody, but it took every party member into the danger level.  I had Rika cast GiSar, and even got it off before the Xe-a-thoul attack, but everyone died except for Kyra.  Kyra of course perished in round three.  I have no idea if you also have to fight Lassic/Lashiec after this, but I cannot imagine how tough he is going to be if you do.   Since I was not up to the task of defeating the Air Castle boss(es), I decided to head back to Motavia to check to see if their are any more job listings in the Hunter's Guild in Aiedo.  There are not.  So now I either need to do some grinding, or come up with an infinitely better strategy against Xe-a-thoul.  Maybe I need to wait until Rika learns NaSar, but that could take forever.  It looks like Raja is the only other person who learns NaSar, and he is no longer in the party.
    • ...and then later on they corrected the munching sound on both A8 and 5200 versions to the proper "wacka-wacka" sound in which it should be.   I'll include the links to both of those tomorrow morning. That was well before the brilliant Pac-Man Arcade came out for both, some 25+ years later.
    • I agree.. mostly. I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers. Believe me, i know that anyone that can create these great games or manipulate previously made games, has programming skill. I applaud all of them and the vast amounts of time spent doing it.. for no money the majority of the time.  But, i think you are just looking at this through a programmers eyes & mindset. Look at the making of new games as a whole.  You said... "A conversion of a game to a different system using only new and different code is still a homebrew." I disagree with this as the game itself was conceived and produced by another programmer already on another platform. Regardless of recoding the entire game, it is still someone elses game.  Again, im not bashing hacked games, ports, or homebrews. I have all 3 types in my collection and im happy with them all. Most people just call them all Homebrews collectively. I do not agree. I believe they are different all together.. not only due to programming, but also conceiving the game and designing the gameplay storyline.  All types (regardless of whether you call them homebrew games or not) are definately their own works of art. No denying that.
    • Hi fdr4prez. What are you offering? Not free I'm assuming. Don't want to leave you without one either. Got more than one? Dusty I like. Fresh barn find! 🙃😆 Anything else I may like? Have any of the rare cart stuff would trade with me? Still need anything? Thanx!
    • This was a typo but only in transcribing what I'd typed into the Atari.  Once I get everything in a form not dependent on real floppy disks I'll likely explore the Altirra.  That will likely be the quickest way to do the survey of what I moved from the floppies.  I was thinking of how fast an Altirra emulation might boot and run programs on the new processors compared to the original 6502 but your mention of a H: device makes it more interesting. Seems to be more options to do a thing than I'd ever guess these days.  I hope there's a good manual for the Altirra around somewhere. There's a vision of the far flung future with an entire Atari environment residing on a NVME drive in a little USB3 external case that can easily be moved between systems.
    • If I can find my bottle, then you can have it.    It is unused, but may be a little dusty.    It'll be a few weeks before I can take a deep look for it.
    • And that makes it all the more interesting how Mario can get into games like racing games, party games, sports games, RPGs, etc. and all receive acceptance, even though he started off in a platformer.
    • This is the forum you are looking for.      Millions and millions... You are not alone
    • Comparing hardware on a computer vs a console isn't a good comparison because both c64 and 5200 have different purposes.  They are not in the same market.  In some ways? What ways? There literally isn't a single game nor is the hardware in every aspect better than the 5200.  5200 PacMan is better than any version of PacMan in 1982 including the mono sounding and choppy looking Muncher from Astrocade.  Unlike the 800 version, the 5200 version had all three intermissions too. The proof is in the pudding. 5200 was smoother, had better sound, and music was sounded like the arcade. Mucher sound was terrible.        The 5200 and Colecovision were the top consoles in 82.  The 7800, which I owned in 87, couldn't compete with Sega and Nintendo. 7800 sound was really bad, some games were good, but compared poorly to the NES. There are games like Realsports Baseball that were better than the 7800. 5200 library was stellar.  So many great games.
