Terrance & Phillip 2

The full title for this game is "Terrance & Phillip: Not Without My Anus", but I bet most people will call this Terrance & Phillip 2, or, to make it even shorter, T&P2. And I've begun work on it. There's a thread about this game in the batari Basic forum, where you can download the very first binary. Level 1 is swimming, a type of level I didn't get to do in the first game because I couldn't figure out how. Only problem is: The Terrance swimming sprite looks horrible. Maybe you can d

Crazy Coin Collectors

I stayed up until 3am watching the various coin shows on Shop NBC and QVC (I would only recommend doing this if you have no life). Which makes me wonder: Why do coin collectors stay up until all hours of the night ordering bizarre expensive things from the TV shopping channels? Don't these people have jobs? If not, then they could stay up until 4am watching bizarre things, but then where does their money to buy these things come from? Two set of 50 state quarters (Denver and Philadelphia mint) p

Back to one of my various collections

I collect a lot of different things. Lynx games. Atari 2600 games. DS games. SpongeBob related things. LPs. You should see my room. It's a mess. Anyway, another thing I collect is coins from different countries. I really don't know how it got started it's been so long. I'm guessing that I was at the coin store one day and saw these coins from different countries across the world. Well, I have 76 so far. Some are from countries that aren't even countries any more (Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia) I gu

Life is too hard

I can't do it any more.First, I had to go on OfficeMax and register this stupid computer. It took half an hour. Now the stupid dog's eye is bleeding and he can't walk very good. And if it wasn't for the stupid dog, there would probably be something else to make me angry. I mean I love the dog, but the fact of the matter is, he's not doing so good, and I want him to be put to sleep but mom refuses. He's only 11 but he acts as though he's 22. I am so sick and tired of picking him up every day and

My favorite record

I got back interested in listening to my small but growing vinyl collection. My favorite record is Vanilla Fudge's "Near the Beginning", because side 2 is just one 23-minute-long rock jam. I am particularly interested in songs that take up more than one side of an album, like Emerson, Lake and Palmer's "Karn Evil 9", or the Allman Brothers Band's "Mountain Jam." I am very much looking for Todd Rundgren's "A Treatise on Cosmic Fire" because it's 35 minutes long and on a single side. I think the a

Red Sea Crossing

Here's my take on it. The title screen plays "Michael, Row the Boat Ashore" because it's the only Bible-themed song I could think of (come to think of it, maybe I can use "'Cause the Bible Tells Me So.") Once you press fire, the "game" begins. I colored the sea red because, after all, it is the Red Sea. Once you enter the sea, the program (God) parts it for you so you can walk through it. And that's it. Just walking left and right. Yes, I know I have no life to be programming this. I was bored,

SpongeBob madness

I am a SpongeBob maniac collector. If it has SpongeBob on it, I'll buy it. I think the most I've ever spent on an item is for one of the DVD box sets. The least expensive item was free (SpongeBob paint swatches my sister got me from Lowe's.) I am eagerly awaiting Season 6 Volume 1, which is supposedly coming out in December. I am also fooling around with the idea of a SpongeBob SquarePants platforming game for the 2600. I probably won't get very far on it, but here's what I have so far. Fire is

Remember Jack?

About 8 months ago, I had completed a 2600 game called "Jack and the Beanstalk." It just sat there in the vast server of AtariAge just waiting for someone to remember it. Looking through my PM folders, I got a PM from someone mentioning this game. I had completely forgotten about it. Now with the releases of Juno First and Dungeon, I wonder if it would be possible once the store is back, to release this game. I PMed Al about it, haven't got a response yet, but I don't see why not, especially bec

Got a new scanner

I got a new scanner. I had to set it up with incessant dog barking. The problem was, he went to the vet a few days ago, and the vet suggested that he get Medrol (a pain killer) every other day for some reason. Well, Mom skipped giving it to him this morning, but apparently he needs it every day because he's having trouble moving and I guess when he has trouble moving, he likes to bark and whine his head off. I don't know what's going on, he hasn't done this before. So Mom gave him a half a pill

PEZ Dispensers!

You know what would be cool? Pez dispensers for classic video game characters. Pac-Man (with yellow Pez pieces that look like power pellets), Pitfall Harry, Yar, the dragon/duck in Adventure, heck, even Sonic the Hedgehog. I saw this story about Pez dispensers on the news and it reignited my Pez dispenser collecting bug. Speaking of collecting, my 293rd Atari 2600 game came in the mail today. It was Time Pilot. I never know what my next game will be, I just go on eBay and if I find an R5 for $10

Lost and Found

Ever since I moved, i had lost most of my GBA games from 2007. I decided to go looking for them again, this time in some new boxes. Lo and behold, there they were, all the ones I was missing. I had also been missing my copy of "Ghosts I-IV" by Nine Inch Nails. This one I really feared for because I doubt that Trent Reznor is going to make Ghosts V-VIII. Well, I had an idea of where I might find it, and lo and behold, there it was (right with my Mario Kart collection. I know that makes no sense.)

Two DS Games

I got two more DS games for my collection. In case you're wondering why I keep getting DS games and never opening them, it's just because I like collecting them. I mean, I bet a factory-sealed copy of Polar Bowler is bound to be worth more than the $20 i paid for it 20 years from now. I wonder why Nintendo hasn't put out a new handheld yet. The DS will be turning 5 this November. I guess if it isn't broke, don't fix it. Another thing I guess that factors into it is that Sony hasn't announced any

Wario's Woods came today

Well, it finally came. The last-ever game produced for the NES. Well, I don't know if my copy is the last copy ever made, but it would be fun if it was, wouldn't it? And, I'm one step closer to 300 today with the ordering of Time Pilot for the 2600. Right now I'm at 292. I'm ever so close! And Jay Leno starts tonight @ 10pm. Can't wait for more funny headlines!

Catfishvania

I played Castelvania again. I got past the bat. But now there's these stupid, small blue ones. Why is it that when your guy gets hit, he falls backwards? After the big bat i was having trouble with, now when i get hit by these stupid things, the guy falls back, usually into a hole to his doom. I think the guy LIKES dying, so he does it. I mean seriously. If I get hit by something large, I don't jump back, I'd fall down (if it was large enough) and not jump back.Well, anyway, I was looking throug

Long songs on vinyl

I just got back from the record store again. I bought "Eat a Peach" by the Allman Brothers Band and "Brain Salad Surgery" by Emerson, Lake and Palmer. I had these two on CD, but I decided to start a long song VINYL collection as well since I have some long songs on vinyl that I don't have on CD. Eat a Peach has the 33-minute long "Mountain Jam", which is so long, it took up two sides of the double album. Brain Salad Surgery has the 29-minute long epic "Karn Evil 9" which takes up 1 1/2 sides of

I can't play Castlevania

Well, I woke up this morning to a surprise: There was a package laying on the counter with a note from Mom saying that I had missed a package when I got the mail yesterday. Inside was Piece o' Cake for the 2600. I also went to the game store. I decided to add to my NES on GBA games collection. I got Castlevania. I can only get as far as the bat and then I die. Stupid thing won't charge me unless I charge him and when i do he hurts me. I'd like to meet the "clever" guy who thought to put actual A

Cross Force was no Picnic

Well, two of my 2600 games I ordered FINALLY came: Cross Force and Picnic. Picnic worked perfectly, but Cross Force needed two cleanings before it felt like working. It was quite dirty. The q-tip showed some black stuff after a thorough cleaning. So now my total is at 291. If Piece o' Cake shows up, it will be 292. Ever so close to 300 unique titles.

Nine

Well, today is the big day: 09/09/09. I have a little treat for you I found on YouTube: And also, I drew a little comic book, issue #439 of my long running thing nobody but me understands: "Bill & George". It is about the number 9. It has 18 pages, and 18 is 2x9. It has three staples on the side, and 3x3 is 9. I know I'm going a little overboard with this, seeing as how next year, there will be a 10/10/10. But after 12/12/12, you've got nothing until 2101. (I might still be alive then, t

The Jungle Book (NES)

Well, after searching for this title for like a million years (the other being Wario's Woods), I looked at the Goat Store and lo and behold, they had the Jungle Book. (Still have to search for Wario's Woods, though.) The main reason for wanting this game is because of its elaborate secret cheat system. All you have to do to access it is to go into the sound test and play sounds 40, 30, 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, and 15. I doubt anyone here has this game though (it's kind of rare). From there it goes to

New Computer

Well, I finally did it: I got a new computer. It has 3 GB of memory and a 500GB hard drive with an AMD Athlon X2 7550 Dual-core processor (whatever that means.) Unfortunately, the darn thing came with Vista, so hopefully Windows 7 will be better than it. We went to Office Max earlier today and bought it even though I had a stomach ache. This means though that I had to miss my sister's barbecue (that and I wanted to set up the computer.) So after going through all the rigamarole of trying to turn

Now's a good time to play your Atari 2600

The forum was down, and there was a message saying that the forum was being worked on and that now would be a good time to play your Atari 2600. So, I did. I got out Fast Food. Then after I got bored with that, tried Cosmic Creeps, Crystal Castles, and then Demon Attack. And then the forum came back online. I'm going to play Video Pinball and Midnight Magic sometime soon, because playing the Atari 2600 is fun. Sure I collect for it, like a collector. I need a hobby or else i'd go insane (you can

Juno 291st

I just ordered Juno First for the 2600. It might not be the 291st game in my collection, but it's the 291st game I *ordered*, hence the title, and I was trying to be clever. I'm still working away on Tetris for the 2600. Work on GoSub 3 has been halted for this, but I have down the basic "engine" for GoSub 3, so all I have to do is work on sfx and mazes (and maybe an Easter egg.) I got MST3K's 15th DVD collection today. I didn't even know there was going to be one, so it was a surprise, this aft

Lotsa News

First off, I want to say thanks to everyone who bought a copy of GoSub 2. Makes me want to start on a GoSub 3... Now, Alien Greed 3 has been pushed back to the Holiday season (November or December.) And if you don't know the Easter Egg to Alien Greed 2, check out the Official Alien Greed site for more details. In more personal news, I just recieved an email from the Goat Store telling me that they don't have Threshold, so I won't be getting it after all. I picked out The Jungle Book for the NES

DS Games

This month I'm going to focus more on DS gaming, because the post office is bringing me down. They were about a month late with that Virtual Boy game, and it seems to be going the same way for that 2600 game I got at the Goat Store a few weeks back (no, it still hasn't come yet.) So here's a list of stuff I want to get (since I'm a DS collector, I probably won't open most of these games. How many of you have an unopened Zelda: Phantom Hourglass? I do.)Kingdom Hearts 358/2 DaysMario & Luigi:

First an update about my dog. Mom says she'll take him to the vet next week (she doesn't have time this week because she'll be babysitting my nephew and niece during the day) and explain the problem to the vet. She started crying when I mentioned that we might want to put him to sleep and said "I don't want to be responsible for his death. I did this already." referring to the other dog she had put to sleep, and more recently the cat.Well, anyway, I'm working on a new video game music album usin
